Very lucky for you! I wish I lived close to Salem but I live way north near Maryland so Allentown ended up being the place I had to go to finally watch Crown live!

Just getting technical but he was not, in any way, stereotyping a whole state. He wasn't saying every single person in the state of Texas is a radical right-winger. He was simply saying that it is known that Texas has a reputation to have more radical right-wingers than other states. I'm not saying he's right or not, just correcting you.

I'm assuming you live in VA? I live in northern virginia so the closest show for me is the one in Warrenton but the lineup didn't excite me so I'm going to Allentown instead!

I'm not sure if it was an off night for SCV but Phantom actually seems to be edging a bit closer to SCV! Call me crazy (I'm not a les mis fan, never have been) but I like the music from Phantom more than SCV this year.

When people say that, they are referring to when someone compares the scores of one corps in one show to the score of a different corps in a different show. So like if crown scores an 80.1 in a show that BD wasn't in and BD scored a 81.1 in a show that Crown wasn't in, then you can't compare those scores since they were at different competitions and would be judged differently. Since all of these corps were in Murfreesboro, it's fine to compare scores as long as we keep in mind the fact that the scores will be different because of different performing orders and judges.

I mean, BD does a lot of follow the leader and scatter sets and it's all amazingly clean so I can kind of see why they're taking visual. I just noticed Crown moved back to first in colorguard. Also glad to see Crown back on top in Brass. All these improvements make me really excited to see both BD and Crown in Allentown next weekend!

Crown took GE despite getting 2nd in all captions because BD took a major hit in their rep for music for some reason... Much stronger night in visual for Crown and I'm sure that'll go up as Crown continues to clean their new additions. If Crown can overtake the Cavaliers' percussion score, they'll be in good shape :)

Sorry if my post sounded dramatic but couldn't the G7 getting their way potentially cause other corps to not be able to get the funds they need to keep going? Which would in turn pretty much ruin the activity would it not? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Man they're going to destroy DCI. I don't want only 7 corps to survive. I don't think anyone does except for the G7... It's going to ruin the activity. Is there really not one person at the helm who can stop all this?

So is there still controversy? (Are the G7 still trying to go after something? or is everything settled?)

Wow that's terrible. I didn't know there were such dark politics going on in the DCI world. I'm glad the G7 didn't get their way. I think the whole TOC thing is pretty stupid considering that it limits the days non G7 corps can compete.

My guess is that the OP has a useless English degree that he wanted to put to good use. On a side note, can someone inform me about what this G7 is that I keep hearing about?

I watch BD's show, look at their visual scores, and then go cry in a corner trying to make sense of them.

Sorry but could you explain why you put Crown in dead last for percussion tonight apart from the fact that Crown has been scoring lower than the top 5 corps in percussion? Their percussion sounded solid tonight and I definitely think they scored ahead of the cavaliers tonight.

I honestly try not to pick a specific corps to like. I tend to like Crown's shows and I tend to not like BD's shows. Last year I actually loved Cabaret Voltaire almost as much as I loved For the Common Good but this year I love E = MC2 but I hate the re:Rite of Spring. When there is a rivalry, people tend to pick sides. It's just human nature.

I can't really judge until I see them in Allentown but of the top 4, I really do think BD has the dirtiest/more boring show judging from what I've seen on youtube so far.
