Oh of course, shows will be designed at the same time as usual, it's just I expect that the fans will get much less show info until much later in the off season

Also, gotta say that having done straight leg in high school and a bit of bent leg while auditioning, bent leg feels much smoother. I also like the way it looks visually as well, but I can see how it doesn't look as clean. Also, who would have ever though that the vanguard 2017 thread would have more replies than the cadets 2017 thread at any point! Granted, that's cause there's a lot of the discussion happening in the staff thread, but still cool to see!

When did vanguard switch to cavies style? Or have they always had that style?

What y'all should be worried about, is not their influence on show design, but on when corps release their show information! What do y'all bet corps release their shows much later this year... 😳 EDIT: Oh whoops, snare_guy also covered this in his more detailed post!

I am very slightly worried however about the influence of Scott Koter on the design team of vanguard. His last few cavies shows were... questionable IMO... And I don't know how much of a hand he played in the conception of 2016's stunner of a show. I may be worrying about nothing though, or at least I hope so!

Wow, I know this is kinda off topic but I just noticed that the recording on the playlist for Point Blank is from my senior year at Westlake when we went to the Midwest clinic! I never knew they put those CD's on Spotify! I almost feel famous!

My hopes for vanguard next year is that this reaches 100 pages haha

We have a seasons worth of bickering on our hands! :P But in all seriousness, if anyone is wants too look at older shows recaps, post here if you see something intruiging, like if somewhere out there vanguards brass beat crowns or something super strange like that!

Just so you know, those are pretty close to the real results. The scores got hard to see so some may be slightly off but someone sent me the watermarked scores and I transcribed it to the best of my ability

I will say that I have the same issue as Cappy, but it's not as simple as just taking one summer off to march drum corps sadly. It's a trade off between marching for a summer or doing an internship where you can get invaluable experience, make connections in your field, and narrow down exactly what sort of work you want to do, or doing research which will help applications to grad school. Unfortunately these days summer break after freshman year of college is not exactly a break anymore :/
