  1. Lol. Although there’s a myth about hearing the corn grow on a hot July day. That might even be too loud for Barb.
  2. Meanwhile, Blue Stars are playing a really fun piece that just so happens to be composed by a woman. No “look at us” involved with their choice.
  3. You’re in love with that phrase ‘virtue signaling’. It’s as if you’re signaling your own virtue by using it so often. Lol
  4. Uniformity of costuming? It rolls right off the tongue.
  5. This is a case of “it’s better to be talked about than not”. Lol My thoughts are sure to **** off people on both sides. I think this show theme is an attempt by an eleventh place corps to remain relevant. Yeah, I’m cynical as all get out as to what PR can put on the field these days.
  6. I think Blue Stars should post some long audio clips so we can determine for ourselves whether they’re too loud. Lol
  7. I liked that the reporter came armed with a decibel meter.
  8. My comment was sarcastic but I get what you mean.
  9. I actually think a great theme for a show would be The Notorious DWG. No need to shell out money for royalties or worry about getting synch rights, etc. as long as the work by the dead white guy was published in 1923 or earlier.
  10. More like it’s harder to find but it’s out there. It might not just fall into your lap. That’s what i meant by venturing out of your comfort zone. In the end, PR can choose whatever the want. Music by a woman isn’t a necessity to convey their theme but I appears to me by Will Pitts’ response no one even tried.
  11. Meh, not worth arguing. The PR team can design a show however they want. In the grand scheme of things it’s only marching band.
  12. My guess is the design team didn’t even step out of their comfort zone and try to find a piece of music written by a woman. There’s plenty, especially in the pop music genre. The Cadets did it fourteen years ago (Björk) without even making an issue about playing a piece written by a woman and won it all.
  13. 3D House of Pancakes! Would you care for more.... Syrup?
  14. Wasn’t it PR who was looking for male guard members who could toss consistent 7s? I think that might have been way back in November. Has anything happened with that? It seemed like a very specific skill set.
  15. Unique theme. I can’t think of anything similar off the top of my head. Maybe 1996 Les Etoiles (Ironwill).
  16. Whatever, they have their work cut out for them in my opinion. Their last attempt at “female empowerment” had the gals going on a shopping spree.
  17. If you want to go there... You’re confusing gender identity with sexual identity.
  18. I snort laughed at tough guy pants. Reminds me of Tina Fey’s book Bossy Pants. Colts are the last corps I expected to go “edgy”. I hope they do it with a nod and a wink and don’t take themselves too seriously.
  19. Can I love your post a bajillion times? One of my all time favorite quiet drum corps moments was their front ensemble arrangement of Jeux D’eau in 2008. It was totally lost on the audience. Philistines!
  20. I’ll love them regardless but if any corps is due for a pop in placement I think it’s BK. I believe they’ve addressed the caption that may have been holding them back.
  21. They’ve been posting a couple weather related photos on Instagram but so far it doesn’t seem to be getting them down. I was very impressed with some of the guard photos. Some sweet unison tosses. Can’t wait to hear one of my fave hornlines in DCI!
  22. Your second paragraph caught my eye. I was disappointed in their design choices, not their placement. I’m still a phan but they placed right where they belonged last season. Well, maybe a place higher than they belonged. I really want to love them again but I’ve grown skeptical.
  23. Even their BITD uni/headgear was off the beaten path.
