  2. Empire Statesmen. Fun fact, they won DCA in 2004 on G's after the any key switch.
  3. As soon as the fundraising is done, I will be buying a set from Kanstul.
  4. Kanstul may be able to make a 2 valve still as they just produced an entire set for the Marines not too long ago. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
  5. Thanks! I completely forgot to look at Fleetwood. They have it listed by years which is why it didn't come up in my Google search I guess. Ordering now!
  6. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on this? I would love a vinyl copy but am also looking for a digital copy. Mainly a good recording of 1970 because I actually have all the other years off of it.
  7. Greetings, My drum corps is currently trying to obtain tenors and bass drums to finish building our first line. Does anybody have any old equipment that they would be willing to donate to us? Any leads would also be helpful. Thanks!
  8. I don't want to draw attention to myself but I think that the Conquistadors should only have 6 points. They are listed twice with 6 and 10.
  9. These bad boys are now up on eBay for those that are interested! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Marching-Band-Drum-Corps-Uniforms-/180915006412?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1f5febcc
  10. it's a shame they are tearing that legion down soon.
  11. Greetings everyone. My organization a while back acquired a full set of uniforms from the long defunct Red Raiders drum and bugle corps from the 1940's in Johnson City, NY. The corps represented the Frank A Johnson American Legion. These are wool, military style uniforms. We were originally going to keep them and use them to get going but the weight combined with the small size of most of them make them almost impossible to use. Anyone that knows where Johnson City, NY is knows that we were hit very hard by flooding in September 2011. This resulted in us losing 25% of the inventory of uniforms. Now we are looking to sell these as historical pieces to help fund our winter colorguard for the upcoming season. I am looking to send them off for $40 plus shipping and handling. This will cover the dry cleaning of the uniform before shipping. We are keeping a handful of them to disperse to the local museums and possibly keep 1 or 2 for our own historical purposes as they are now a part of our history as well. Everything else is up for grabs and you can have as many as you want. There are no surviving shakos but I can order replicas to complete the uniform if desired for an extra cost. Below is a picture. If interested, simply PM me or respond here and I will PM you.
  12. Winning 2 of the 3 divisions in Tom's River is unheard of for us. A great start for the Conquistadors!
  13. Looks like they have the Holy Name patch on the shoulder too.
  14. The Roselle Park Conquistadors announced today that they are adding 2 new groups to their organization. The corps are being resurrected to compete in DCPI for the first time ever to help get the number of DCPI corps above 100. Competing in the Open Class: The New York Skyliners of New York City, NY Competing in Class A: The Red Raiders of Johnson City, NY Show announcements for both groups will be made shortly.

  16. Just for negatives I think. I've been +1'ing people all afternoon and it hasn't cut me off yet. It's my annual "spend the whole day on DCP" day.
  17. And it seems to be more of a medical abnormality to get up from it repeatedly rather than talent also. He should really be on the Discovery Health and Fitness channel on one of those mystery shows.
  18. Always one of my favorite shows. We camped out a couple years and held Sunday rehearsal at the stadium too.
  19. What I heard was the only thing keeping the drum corps alive was the 2 valve bugles. They don't want to go to 3 valves because the similarities to the band's instruments are too close leading a decision to be made to merge the two and eliminate the drum corps, as Elphaba eluded to, which means I'm not the only one that heard that story
  20. As I recall, (being a horn player so not much knowledge) the end of Premier was not a good one. Although I heard they are coming back... I only have drum experience with what we did with the Skyliners. Premier sucked and Yamaha was awesome.
  21. The thing looked great when we got the sample for the real corps. Only change we made was getting rid of the drop sash. Other than that it is identical.
