Opinions on Uniforms for 2014--helped or hindered?

Blue Devils - Those uniforms will only work with one show: Felliniesque. I honestly hope they change them. Maybe back to 2012? Those were niiiice. Bluecoats - Didn't dig the white sash-thing too much. But can't really say much, except I preferred last years over this years. The Cavaliers - I thought the Illuminati triangle was too bulky to be on such a traditionally simple uniform. Glad their back to the simple yet sleek Cavalier style. Carolina Crown - Hated the dance pants last year, hating the dance pants this year. Boston - They're nice but not my absolute favorite. LOVED the guard look. Phantom - I'm sorry, but those uniforms are straight up high school :/ -

In the end I just picked 10 shows I really like and then attempted to list them. The only one I'm absolute about it my favorite being BD's Winged Victory -

Top 10 Favorite shows of all time!
JamesKPolk replied to ajlemm's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
1. 2007 Blue Devils - Winged Victory - 1st - 98.000 Just a wonderful, often overlooked, championship show. Everything about this show speaks to me. 2. 2002 Cavaliers - Frameworks - 1st - 99.150 Brilliant show design put on the field by one of the most talented corps ever fielded. 3. 2005 Cadets - The Zone - 1st - 99.150 This show did get quite a bit of hate, but it's one of the Cadets' more 'out there' shows and its absolutely wonderful in its execution and arrangement. 4. 1989 Cavaliers - Gloria - 3rd - 97.200 How to turn Catholicism into Drum Corps 101 5. 2008 Blue Devils - Constantly Risking Absurdity - 2nd - 98.100 Often overshadowed by Phantom's weird surge, this is just an example of BD really putting it out there. 6. 2012 Cadets - 12.25 - 4th - 95.050 George 'Jingle Bell' Hopkins decided it was Christmas in July. And it might have well been because this show was just BEAUTFUL. 7. 2012 Blue Devils - Cabaret Voltaire - 1st - 98.700 The show that single-handedly turned me into not only a Blue Devils fan, but a MAJOR DCI fan. 8. 1989 SCV - Phantom of the Opera - 1st - 98.800 Repeating a show concept back to back shouldn't usually work, but it did. Oh yes, it did. 9. 2011 Phantom - Juliet - 5th - 95.050 Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral. That is all. 10. 2009 Phantom - The Red Violin - 9th - 89.900 Ninth place schminth place. -
1. You will most likely have to employ Google to understand BD's show 2. Cavaliers will once again go with a very dark show 3. Extremely large uniform changes for most of the G7 except the Cadets and maybe SCV 4. Carolina Crown will hopefully lay the science theme to rest 5. Spirit of Atlanta will make finals (pleaaasseee)

Anyone else feel bad for the Cadet's members?

I agree with you on the bolded part. I always make sure to remember that the Cadets have 10 DCI championships, and for very good reason. Theyre one of the two top competing corps in the biz. EDIT: Accidently said BD instead of The Cadets. Had Stravinsky on my mind. -

I heard "Reciving the Bronze Medal tonight, with a score, of 96.875, nine six point eight seven five....The Cadets! 'BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'" -

This. If you've ever spoken to George "Jingle Bell" Hopkins or read any of his posts on Facebook it is extremely clear that the Cadets as an organization isn't geared towards placement its geared towards the enrichment of the kids marching. Through the staff's attempts at improving the kids as performers, the Cadets' become an annual contender for gold. This is also what bugs me - having your thunder taken away at Finals Awards is anything but enriching for a Cadet. -

This is exactly my sentiments. I'm not feeling sorry at the fact that they got knocked down to 3rd, moreso I'm sympathizing because they got just about ZERO recognition on the one night where theyre supposed to get the most recognition.
