*raises hand* I LOVE THEIR SHOW! Most expensive show in all of DCI this year - they throw everything they can at you. And even if you don't like their show, watch the choir guy second from the left. He can make it more fun for you.

This thread has changed......foooorr gooooddd :) I agree that this show is controversial. I guess I don't know if I agree that it's difficult to understand anymore. It sounds like it's simply just about the football field having a different meaning/having changed bc of dci. If that's true, does it make CC's show amazing? Lol, ehhhhhhh. But it does make it an easier show for me to swallow. It was bothering me since June that their show was about Crown changing to fit with the new standards set up for shows in DCI when nothing in the show seemed to point to that.

What is a football field, though? You can make any flat surface thats large enough into a football field by painting yard markers on it. exactly why the emphasis is on yard markers - it makes a football field what it is.

Ehhhh yeah, but I'm saying that I don't think she represents Crown or DCI. She never holds a horn or marches or touches a drum. Instead she's covered in yard markers. And I'm HUGELY against vocals (sigh, I know...I'm a fogey), but it would be very hard to talk about the field changing without a representation of it, without giving it a voice.

Look, people also said Crown's Relentless show had a "hard to follow story". Psh. Do you really want something so basic and unconsidered so that you're just entertained? I like that there may be layered concepts you don't notice right away. I hadn't thought of her as the field, yet. this whole time I've been hearing that this show is Crown talking about the "change" in drum corps, but it hasn't made any sense to me! The visuals like the football helmet tarp, the emphasis on yard markers and number. Why? How does that relate to DCI or Crown changing? it doesn't. It's all about the field. Wow. It really would be exciting if that were the case. I especially like that at the end of prelims she falls and is replaced by a yard marker - kind of adds strength to your argument. Looking forward to see what happens tonight. And keep an eye out for the drum major - it looks like he may be involved in the end sequence soon(?).

Yea. Both men and women wear mid-drift tops. It doesn't bother me. I'm not sure why it would(?).

The phantomettes were phenomenal! No knock on the performers, but whoever designed this show may consider thinking about how they feel about women and female sexuality....just sayin

Hey friends - I saw PR's show for the first time tonight - great job to the whole corps, really enjoyed the hornline as always - and I was wondering if someone could offer me a quick explanation of you think it's about. I scrolled through a bunch of the thread here but I wasn't able to find thoughts on the show concept.

WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Hung out with Crown in the lot and everyone is ECSTATIC about the caption wins!!! The vibe from Crown tonight was infectious and I'm so happy for all of them. This hornline is truly astonishing and their guard was incredible - and the awards prove it! Well done everyone! This was the HANDS DOWN most incredible year of Drum Corps!

Hoping Crown doesn't psych themselves out and does an amazing job tomorrow! The spread really can't even be called a spread - it's razor thin!!! Tomorrow is sure to be spectacular and all three top corps absolutely deserve to win this year! Crown has no where to go but up, and if they don't, they're still in 3rd during a year when the top three were all basically on the same level!

lol you're a little weird :) I like that you're a massive BD homer - it doesn't bother me. So I actually really love BD's show. I also love Crown's. But I did notice tonight that BD's guard doesn't use sabers or rifles or flags that much. From my viewing it seemed like they were mostly empty handed throughout a lot of their show. I'm obviously not a judge and I don't know much about the guard so my opinion LITERALLY means absolutely nothing, but if I were to put Crown against BD, I'd say Crown's guard is better because they aren't just doing body movement the whole show and flipping their hair around (which I know sounds like a dis, I certainly don't mean it that way - I do think that it's a cool look to see a line of long haired people whipping it back and forth in time with one another). Do you think that's valid? If not, I'd like to hear your opinion on why BD's guard is better. ALSO - I know this isn't totally on topic, but you guys are talking about what kind of hell JSD should go to……soooooo :) who knows the most about catholics (?)…I think that's what you're talking about now….

I am loving Blue Devil's show this year! Tonight was my second time watching it live and it's just incredible. It's so loud that I'm considering buying cotton buds for tomorrow's finals performance just so my ears can live to listen another day haha This finals will be electric! Bring it, Devils!

Tonight I was concerned about my hearing and I was holding my ears plugged for a lot of the last two shows and a couple others. I saw BC, Cadets and Crown in Massillon and it didn't bother me so much - but Lucas Oil's closed space just makes it unbearable tonight. I'm considering (sadly) picking up some cotton buds - something so I can still hear but won't get a headache. And before anyone calls me a dinosaur and to stay on my Lazyboy - I don't care, call me a dino haha - it's just a safety concern, truly.

Preach!!! Why do I want the corps doing stuff back where I can't see or hear them? It's absolutely a bs "checkbox" like you mentioned. Using the entire field has never made a show better or worse imo. Besides, none of the top 3 corps use the entire field.
