  1. Or...you could just go to their website where they'll tell you what their show is about. Reminds me of what people were saying about BD 2012. Nobody could figure out what their DADA show was about...and didn't bother to read their announcement.
  2. What does the Atlanta judges have against BK?
  3. Now I know I'm getting old when the Moody Blues is considered "retro".
  4. OC's show is so much better with the guard in their uni's...creepy little boys and girls.
  5. Battalion guard getting warmed into music from The Greatest Showman. posted from the DrumScorps app
  6. How about you bring all the top six to Denver after the 4th. Since DATR is the only show I can see live, that would be great.
  7. Cadets were supposed to make a West Coast tour this year until they scrapped it. I can't remember if they were going to be at the Ogden show, but they WERE going to be at the DATR show. In any case, we all know that these scores really have very little meaning...until the SA show.
  8. I agree. Email the staff. But I suggest the OP be a bit nicer about it than in this thread's post. You know...flies...sugar...vinegar.
  9. The date of the show isn't wrong. Today is Jul 8. The show is tomorrow.
  10. BK's show isn't an "Egyptian themed show". From their show announcement: https://ascendperformingarts.org/blue-knights-announce-2018-show-the-fall-and-rise/
  11. Some thoughts... 1. I haven't seen BK since the send-off show. Have they put the whole show on the field yet? 2. Nice to see that BK broke 70 last night. 3. I sure hope they break 80 before/at DATR. 4. Speaking of which, two weeks and I get to see my one and only live show this year. Can't wait.
  12. It's been five days since BK and SCV performed. That's a lot of rehearsal time. Will SCV top Bluecoat's latest score? Will BK top the Cadet's latest score? Anyone have any guesses how big a scoring jump these corps will get?
  13. Haven't heard of any yet, but it's a safe bet to say BK will have some of their usual tasteful, effective voice over in this show.
  14. I understand your excitement. I felt the same at the send-off show when they were in uniform. However, I am inclined to respect the wishes of BK. They have an oft-expressed policy of not presenting videos of their rehearsals before the season starts. Mark Arnold was very clear at the send-off show when he said that uploading photos was okay...but that uploading videos was not. From past shows, I suspect the reason has to do with rights issues. In a past show at their Memorial Day picnic, BK used a voice over from Kevin Spacey. They didn't have permission and Mark was very clear about not uploading videos then. They later used a paid voice actor for the lines. In the send-off performance, it seemed they used snippets from "Sun King". Perhaps they don't yet have rights for that content. Is so, no videos is very important.
  15. So...your video is now unavailable. Good.
  16. Random comments about the BK uniform pictures... 1. Regarding the horn player and the drum player and that pattern of blue dots on their chest. Not everyone in the corps has that same pattern. There are variations. 2. The one picture of the back of the guard member doesn't do justice. The yellow design is actually brighter. It especially stands out more on the purple background. 3. Those colors will pop under the stadium lights. 4. btw, that bass drum player in the picture...in real life...is freaking TINY. She looks to be about half the height of the tallest bass player.
  17. Comments from watching the send-off show: 1. Uniforms. Same design for all sections. Different colors between guard and the rest. The guard were wearing...sweats?...over their lower bodies. Didn't see them without. The colors are striking. Everyone has a yellow design on their back. I'm sure that'll be used to good effect in the drill. 2. Guard and drill. Rough at this point. Not unexpected. It will get better. Awesome color flags...as usual. 3. Front ensemble and drumline. I'm not the person to judge, but it sounded ###### good to me. 4. Brass and music. Dark. Discordant. Expressive. They didn't play what Mark Arnold described as a mix of Welcome to the Machine and Time After Time. That sounds intriguing. I expect the show to end on a hopeful, uplifting note with that music. At least, I hope it does. 5. Mark described the show as based on the Egyptian god Ra, but not being about Egypt. Rather it's about the day. Starting with the sun setting, through the night and the sun rising. It's about the human condition. 6. Their first show is a week from today. They will be spending the time in Utah putting the rest on the field. (YES!!)
  18. All set for the send off show. posted from the DrumScorps app
  19. Yeah...I figured it out, too! ♡ posted from the DrumScorps app
  20. I'll be there to see their send-off show on the 15th. Can't wait!
