  1. Disappointed not to see the Finals ending. I noticed that she does kill herself in the High Camera angle. Anyone know why the 2 different endings based on the camera angle? Perhaps the camera man on the field wasn't in a good position to capture it?
  2. Kimela, is there a problem with the servers at bluedevils.org? I haven't been able to get a response for the last couple of minutes (timeout error).
  3. The Cadets posted some videos which contain Marc Sylvester explaining the show concept. He is the one credited for the main idea of the 2005 & 2006 shows. Below is the link to the explination. The explination is spread accross two videos (not that long, just the way it was posted). The start of the explination begins about 2/3 into the first link. Beginning of explination Conclusion HTH, Jason
  4. Chris, just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated the coverage of Championship week on the Blue Devils site. I sent an email to Dave Gibbs Todd Tanji (didn't see your contact info on the site), so I wanted to convey the same message to you. Durring finals, many people on DCP were saying how much better the Bluedevils coverage was then the DCI Season Pass. I also appreciated how much attention and enthusiasm was conveyed for the other corps. Something I really didn't expect from the website of a competing unit. Excellent job to you and everyone on the web team!!! ~Jason
  5. No need to be sorry. The reason was that they were confident in thier success and had already developed merchandice before they officially got the title. After getting the scores they were getting recently, they were apparently willing to invest in the new products early. Now last year would have been a different story, I am sure.
  6. Major issue is probably not the best phrase to use, but the rest of Hopkins quote was "It’s hard to be confident when you’re coming in eighth, you know?" Reading his blog the last 2 summers, I have seen him write of tough times with confidence and scores and placements having a part in that. -sheesh
  7. The point was not about capitalizm, it was that the wheels were already turning for the merchandice before they were actually declared the champions. I'd say they were confident that they would win the show and were willing to bet money on it.
  8. Here is what Hopkins had to say about next year's plans in a DCI interview last night after Finals: Next year, the Cadets will follow a familiar pattern in terms of the show. “I think we’re going to stay on a similar pathway, not this, but storytelling, something a little bit unusual I think, but we’ve only talked about it briefly.”
  9. I understand what Hopkins meant by the statement and I don't have a problem with it. But let's just say that from this link , it does not appear that there was a major issue with confidence.
  10. I agree with you here. It's kinda like in the NBA, when everyone says "they don't call traveling anymore." In the last few years, it seems the DCI judges don't call out on sloppy or inconsistant marching technique.
  11. The Crossmen have a director and he is Larry Markiewicz, not George Hopkins. I know Hop is the director of YEA! and Crossmen are sponsored by them, but if the members of the Crossmen really "need" to have a supporter on the sidelines, it should be someone from thier staff, not the director of a competing unit.
  12. Here is the error message from BD's site: Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/httpd/vhosts/bluedevils.org/httpdocs/includes/classes/DBConnection.php on line 23 Too many connections I think you are right, blueoriginal
  13. Ya know, we may never get to see some of the surprise endings & show changes everyone has been talking about.
  14. I think somebody did a reprise of this in 2004 during BD's performance as well. Who says tradition is dead in drum corps?
