  1. Yeah, there were quite a few songs I couldn't locate in that show. Great show, but some real stretching going on.
  2. Most Musical - Star '93 Most Powerful - Phantom '96 Most entertaining - Cadets '00 Most Ground Breaking - SCV '80 Honorable Mentions: SCV '97 & '04, BD '03
  3. My band director and Dr Woods were good friends and he helped put together a version of 'script ohio' for my high school. We used the same march as Ohio State. The title on the music was 'Le Regiment' although the director always refered to it as "French National" or "French National Defile".
  4. As a michigan fan you should be hoping for any kind of win!
  5. Then I'll have... the chicken! The first 59 member Capital Regiment stepped out on to the field 10 years ago as well.
  6. OC scores are all over the place. I don't think there'll be a clear picture until Dayton. I'm so proud of CR I can't even put it in words.
  7. Do not create another sn to make it seem like you have more support for your opinion then there may or may not be lest ye be labeled a troll.
  8. I just wanna say thanks one more time. I really appreciate it. Especially because Capital Regiment is not going to be at any of the Fan Network broadcast shows so this will be my only way to see them. So thanks to you and my pleas to anyone else who goes to a show, Pictures pictures, pictures! Thanks in advance,
  9. Thanks for the pics, I really appreciate it!
  10. Radar shows the storm as VERY strong but almost through Toledo. It's a toss up
  11. I had no idea there was so much ire toward the yell. I think it is one of the greatest drum corps traditions ever. (FYI: the first year the yell was designed was 2004 as a result of it growing more and more popular among fans before then, but never being a 100% consistent.) I know Key loves the yell and the staff loves the fact that so many people are dedicated to finding out where it goes and participating in it. So if Key didn't find a place for it, it doesn't belong. Trust in the Key. The Key is wise. Besides once you see their show, you will be stunned into silence during the closer, so it's a moot point.
  12. If you ask someone who marched there... you will get a different answer. lol
  13. Capital Regiment on this week's Field Pass http://bit.ly/CapReg
  14. The difference here is that most people are just pulling things out of thin air with absolutely nothing to back it up. For something like the NCAA there is a HUGE network of reporters at every team's camps all through the preseason reporting on what is going on. They know exactly which players have left the team, which ones have joined or who is hurt and how those people performed in the past. There are complicated systems for ranking EACH player based on STATS. People spend months looking at all of this to determine the preseason rankings. Even with all that research there are still huge shake ups after the first week. How many mello players at Phantom do you know by name? How many are vets? How many are drum corps rookies? How many returning vets do the Blue Devils have? What staff changes have they made? Once you can answer all those questions for every corps, then you can make a guess at preseason rankings. Since most people usually only see 1 or 2 corps before the season starts (and are biased in some way or another) these rankings are meaningless. You might as well just talk about who your favorite corps is and how you want them to do this year. To sum up: Is it rude? No, not really. Is it pointless and annoying? Yes, but 90% of the comments in this (and nearly EVERY OTHER forum on the internet) are. So continue on. To those of you annoyed, just don't read the thread.
  15. On Saturday, Cadets Did not have the Red/White/Green diamond thing. Just White Pants and Green Jackets. It was a little plain, but those colors looked really sharp together. Looked great on the field.
  16. I want a Slumdog Millionaire show. Now that would be great.
  17. Those shows are tomorrow and Sunday at DVC and Independence HS respectively.
  18. Unless you are in the northern California area. In that case, you get Precision West tomorrow and Vanguard Flag day spectacular on Sunday!
  19. Twitter provides a very simple way to keep people connected without needing a huge interface and complicated device. You can do it from your cell phone. Also, because you are limited to 140 characters the updates are short and sweet, you can get out a lot of information very quickly and easily. It is incredible for drum corps. Members and staff can keep parents and fans appraised of the goings on of the corps in under a minute. Even share pictures. I realize that it's hard to get, from the outside it seems like a bunch of narcissists talking about what they had for lunch, but it really is more. I resisted for a year before joining last summer. It has led to many oppurtunities I would never have found otherwise.
  20. No, it was something that elvolved on it's own and just became ingrained.
  21. Hmm... The A corps show this year is indeed classic Blue Devils. If you want Jazz, you're gonna get it. Big time. The B corps is pushing the limits of what you expect from an open class corps to a whole new level. Those of you who have lowered expectations of open class corps will be changing your minds.
