I've seen Bloo 4 times now and they were definitely a notch or three up tonight. I didn't believe they could win it all until this performance. I feel the same about BD and Crown tonight too. It's definitely still a three horse race.

BD was fantastic. They are hungry for gold and can easily win. Bloo better be on the money because Crown and BD sure were.

Cadets performed the hell out of that show. That show still makes zero sense. Why do they kill the statue? What are the violin and horn soloists supposed to represent? Also, guard dance choreography REALLY stood out in a bad way. They awkwardly prance around and do some ragtime moves in the middle of this show and that makes no sense either. Again, amazing kids playing and marching their butts off, but the design is a big mess and holding them back.

Blue Knights were excellent. Beautiful program with a lot of intensity and great battery writing throughout.

Boston having a great show. Making a case for finals IMO.

They worked for me fine. Shadows were pretty visible from the 100s.

Mandarins will be the next corps to break into finals like Academy is this year. I'm consistently impressed by them each year.

I think Crown is firmly in the middle of traditional and new while maintaining their own style and creating something new and engaging for the audience year after year. I love Bloo and BD as well for their radical approaches, but Crown feels the most traditional to me without being too old school to feel outdated.

Not if it's Crown stealing them like last night. That could very well lead to Crown getting gold since they seem to be hanging in GE with BD.

I can't disagree any more without being rude. All three have incredible productions and members of all captions top to bottom, and the fact that they are all so close competitively with such vastly different styles is a testament to the state of the activity and the judges.

What? The story is dead simple and a child can follow it. The only debate anywhere is if the new ending is better or not.

Haveli has a great Indian buffet for $8 right across from where they do Soundsport. Short walk from the stadium, definitely worth it. It goes until 2 pm I believe.

A big issue with it is that the acoustics of each venue will drastically alter the resonance and "volume" of the synth bass, so unless they paly it on the safe side it can get overwhelming quickly. A good example of that is Cavaliers in Atlanta vs Nightbeat. Sounded fine in the dome, but way overpowering the next night in the concrete stadium at WF.
