  3. They should bring back the '00-'03 uni. To me, that uniform is the Blue Devils. However, I think they should try and keep the pinstripes, or at least see how it works together.
  4. It has been a wonderful and eventful season for all three corps affiliated with the SMYO. Since there wasn't an Oklahoma show on the tour this year, we scheduled a "welcome home" show and picnic for all the parents, relatives and friends after we arrived back in Tulsa on Tuesday. It was a great opportunity for everyone to see the finished product on the field and the kids enjoyed being able to perform their show together one last time. Shadow Mountain Marauders The division I Marauders second season in DCPI was a tremendous success. "Empire: The Rise and Fall of Rome" was definately a more demanding show on the kids mentally and physically, but they handled the challenges well. The crowd was into the show each and every night. The corps was able to win a few shows here and there, and the corps made the North Regional Championship Finals for the first time. The Marauders season ended on prelims day with a final placement of 33rd. The corps is still growing and learning, and we hope to make our 3rd season in DCPI our greatest yet! Matadors The first season in division 2 was outstanding for the Matadors. The highlight of the season was without a doubt the 2nd place finish at the North Regional Championships . The corps was young, but they excelled and performed beyond any expectations the staff could have set for them. The Matadors season ended with a 13th place finish at division2/3 prelims. Shadow Mountain Reserve Crowds loved Harry Potter production the corps put on this year, it had the fans on their feet night in and night out. The corps narrowly missed out on making finals at the North Regional Championship and in Boston. We hope to carry on our momentum into the off-season and have a great winter season! After a few weeks rest, staff members from all three corps will get together and start planning for the 2005/2006 winter season. Be on the look out for annoucements concerning auditions, tour schedule, and repertoire in the coming weeks and months. In other related news, the SMYO received a generous donation from some locals celebrities who wish to remain anonymous. With this donation we plan on buying land on which we will build a bingo hall, offices, and storage facilities for vechiles and equipment. Sincerely, Chris Aaron Executive Director Shadow Mountain Youth Organization

  7. Are we going to have a Rules Congress before the winter season starts, or is that just going to be a spring time thing?
  8. I voted PC, I think/hope they place in the 12-16 range. I would also like to see the Colts move past Spirit., and see Phantom make a push for the top.
  9. What makes you think Cavies 2002 was so bad?
  10. I think someone was playing with a stacked deck at table 2. :P

  16. From the north comes one of the newest Division II corps. Twilight Drum and Bugle Corps from Anchorage, Alaska will be taking the field in competition this summer. Things got off to a rocky start during the fall and winter months trying to find a place to rehearse and trying to convince potential members and sponsors that a drum corps from Alaska can be successful. However, things started to turn around during the spring. Twilight will be fielding a full Division II corps this summer. Yamaha will be providing all of our brass and percussion instruments, and Stanbury helped us design our uniforms. The corps will be touring North America and making a trip to Japan this summer. 2005 program Kind of Blue -"Blue Rondo A La Turk" by Dave Brubeck -"Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin -"Blue Shades" by Frank Ticheli -"Blue Rondo A La Turk" reprise

  20. The Shadow Moutain Youth Organization will be bringing two new corps into competition for the 2005 season. The Division 2 Matadors, and the Division 3 Shadow Mountain Reserve, and of course the Division 1 Shadow Mountain Marauders will be back for their second season. All three corps moved into their rehearsal facilities the last week of May. The University of Tulsa is the location of the Marauders pre-tour rehearsals. The Matadors have been practicing at Union High School, and the Reserve at Broken Arrow High School. Due to a budget surplus from fundraising, all three corps will be recieving new uniforms. In addition the Marauders and Matadors will be performing on brand new King horns and Yamaha percussion equipment. The Shadow Moutain Reserve will be using the Marauders equipment from last year.
