I suspect you are providing counter arguments to performance art. -
WSJ: America to reach herd immunity in April
Continental replied to MikeRapp's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Case loads have been going down here since the government imposed a curfew. This has prevented a lot of people from getting together in the evenings although the police have given out 4000+ tickets since the curfew was implemented. At $1500 to start, that's a lot of money. Also, we are heading into warmer weather. When people are able to go outside more the infection rate will go down significantly because no one is cooped up indoors. Our infection rate in August was very low and rules were relaxed. As we headed into colder weather they started to increase significantly. -

They ended in Australia and New Zealand. They clamped down hard at the beginning of the pandemic and almost every citizen cooperated with the rules enforced and they were some of the most strict in the world. Now when there is an outbreak they clamp down on the affected area. -

The entire past year has been full of optimistic projections only to be quashed later on. -

There are also cases of variations of the virus "merging." Could go either way, peter out the virus of create a new "Colossus-Guardian" version. I'm sure few will get the Colossus reference (the Forbin Project movie from a long time ago). https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/two-variants-merge-to-form-first-recorded-recombinant-virus-1.5312679 -

Maybe the headline should be in an even bigger font so I can see it from down the hallway. -

I was actually surprised that I was able to access the article. I don't understand how most times it doesn't work and then the odd time it does. -

You make some good points. -
One thing that I've been wondering, isn't it true that the virus mutated right after it started to spread? I remember seeing reports about how testing could reveal the origin of the virus and it was determined that the main source of infections in New York was Europe. Then again, maybe I'm just drowning in science from the past year and I'm mixing things up.

Be very careful. The wrappers make a lot of noise when you take them off the chocolates. -

I drove through Vermont/New Hampshire on my drive to Portsmouth. Some of the most beautiful terrain I have ever encountered. -

People in Maine and Vermont are some of the kindest Americans one could ever meet. Life there is quite different than many other states. The pace of life is a lot slower....friendlier. So many genuine personalities. You go there during normal times and you instantly feel at peace. -

I'm really disappointed with people using the term "negative" regarding opinions based on everything that has happened during this pandemic. How about this, turn off the human condition regarding illness and death and then we might not be so "negative." I guarantee you that there are more people on this forum affected by what is/has been going on than are indicating so. Will the half-million mark of deaths in the US as a result of this convince others? Oh my, I'm being negative. -
Yes, scared is accurate. So is this a weakness? I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones never have to experience saying goodbye to a loved one via Zoom as they pass in isolation. Perhaps with your experience you can't fathom that as of yet. I assure you that as you age (if you are indeed the age you say your are) your perspective will change. If it does not, I'm not capable of answering the question "why?" Your determination to march a season will so pale in comparison.
