  1. Holly, You say come find out why ......... I AM planning on finding out for myself in 2013. I really can't wait to get back on the field !!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been 8 years since I put down the horn competitively, we'll its time to pick it up again. Here's to a funtastic year ahead.
  2. Well, if DCA is looking for ways to make I&E better my suggestion would be, AND THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION, judges should refrain from drinking during the time they are judging. I sat in one of the venues where that occurred. If I would have walked out to be a participant in the I & E competition and saw a judge with a Bud Light sitting in front of him I probably would have refused to play.
  3. I would say that's the best soprano ever made !!!!!!!! I still play it (although not this year), and luckily I won 2 DCA best soloist awards playing that horn. And the best thing is you only need to clean it with water to make it shine.
  4. Hey I made two of the last three flashbacks. Woo Hoo !!!!!!!
  5. Olds Ultra Tone 2 valve. I've played it for most of my career. The King K 20 is a nice horn too but a distant 2nd to the ultra tone.
  6. What's this old fart talk about members over 40 .......... I won 2 DCA best soloist awards ..... my first at age 28 and my second at age 45. And I marched a Michael Gaines written drill at age 46.
  7. I predict I might play a few loud high notes sometime during our show (Cabs Alumni)
  8. Fran, So sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. RIP Barbara. You will be missed.
  9. WOW ..... all I can say is I'm only playing in one group this time !!!!!!!!!!!
  10. To All who voted, THANK YOU ALL for voting for my daughter, Kristen, who was officially named Army Athlete of the Week last Thursday. I am so proud of her and also my fellow drum corps community. Everyone is so supportive and so kind to vote. I can never thank you all enough.
  11. To All, Thank you, thank you for letting me sit in at rehearsal yesterday. .....I had a great time...... It was cool to see and chat with some of the 1995 members I marched with ..... It was also a treat to see some of my fellow Steel City members as well . The charts were awsome, the hornline sounded great and the drum line ....well what can I say wow. (yes even the basses were really good remember I saw part your sectional rehearsal----- BEER from Jeff ??????)
  12. My heart is surely saddened by this news. Don was one true gentleman and as was mentioned before ........ DON WAS STEEL CITY ..... thru and thru. RIP my friend. And not to forget Bernie Halgas. RIP To me 2 very sad events.
  13. Hey Frank, Are you including me in the 5 leads you are bringing with you ....... or do I make it 6 (OOOOPPSSS did I say that outloud)
  14. I was there when : Steel City ended Cabs 2 year unbeaten streak .... Bush won there 1st DCA Championship .... Cabs ended Brigs 46 show winning streak .... I joined Cabs alumni ...
