  1. There WAS lightning. There was a thunderstorm advisory the entire evening.
  2. For what it’s worth, I don’t believe tickets are refunded due to weather cancellation. So while there wouldn’t be revenue from concessions or souvenirs, advanced ticket sales shouldn’t be lost.
  3. My predictions: 1) Bluecoats 2) BD 3) Boston 4) Crown 5) Cavies 6) Cadets
  4. No percussion judge at this show. They doubled the Music Analysis score.
  5. Sort of. The brass scores/placements couldn't have been closer (0.1 separating each spot for 1-3). But yes, percussion was a deciding factor tonight.
  6. Mandarins tying for 1st in GE is major for them. That's the kind of thing they need to keep them in the hunt with that pack.
  7. Close one! 1 Blue Stars 78.750 2 Mandarins 78.600 3 Crossmen 77.450 4 Colts 74.300 5 Genesis 67.450 1 River City Rhythm 57.200 2 Colt Cadets 52.850
  8. Bump. Mods/Admins, any chance of merging the current "Mandarins making noise!" thread into this one?
  9. Hopefully they could merge them. The official corps thread is all the way on, like, page 5 or 6 right now.
  10. BTW, it's a shame this whole discussion began as a separate thread from the official corps thread. This would've increased that thread's page count by 50% or more.
  11. And during its A-60/Div III/Div II years from 1987 through 2002, Mandarins never placed lower than 3rd place at championships, oftentimes missing 1st place by only tenths of a point. It's so great to see them climbing the ranks within World Class now.
  12. In the Johnston thread, someone said that it IS a full panel tonight. And due to a heat advisory, they've pushed back the start time by 30 minutes and eliminated the intermission, so Mandarins and Crossmen will actually be going on back-to-back.
  13. That means Mandarins and Crossmen will truly go on back-to-back. That's actually great for those of us looking at how they'll stack up against each other at this first meeting!
  14. It doesn't, but I think the point was that at this point we can't make an assumption that Blue Stars definitely would have beaten Mandarins in brass, percussion, and/or guard, which is the implication made by those criticizing the partial panel and its potential effect on Mandarins' lead/win.
  15. DCI.hotmess.org finally fixed their schedule for this show, so scores are scheduled for 10:14pm.
  16. Not sure if the sheet has been revised since 2012, but the verbage clearly INCLUDES guard in VP evaluation.
  17. I haven't heard corps moaning about it...just DCP. And as Cappybara said, it's a non-issue next season since they DID take action at the rules congress and implemented full panels at all shows beginning next season.
  18. Well I mean, REALLY first and foremost these corps spend many thousands going place to place to perform for audiences. A small audience would be a much bigger insult than a partial panel.
  19. It does, and what that judge is saying is that those two corps are on totally different levels from each other in that caption.
  20. And guard has been Mandarins' most consistently strong score.
  21. From one of the local news reports, the show is free admission, so there SHOULD be a great turn out!
