  1. Awesome evening in Lexington, SC. I loved the Cadets show. Lots of movement and their sound was loud and awesome. Something in the middle (marching-wise) doesn't look right- kinda messy and all over the place. I didn't see a 2 pt difference between them and the Bluecoats. Fwiw- I thoroughly enjoyed Legends' show and Crossmen's guard looked great. Oh, and I couldn't stop watching the keyboard girl from BAC. Lol
  2. I know they did that in Denver '04. The guard member in the circle was an age-out. I'm not sure if they've done it since then or not.
  3. I'm not sure what you're looking at- they're out in Irmo about 10 miles NWest of Columbia. The storm is downtown Columbia now. Just as I thought it passed us to the south. We can see lightening in the distance but that's about it. I hope they decide to play.
  4. It's touch and go here. I think the bigger storm will miss us to the south by just a few miles. There's still a lot of thunder and lightening all around. I hope they hold off before they make any decisions. It will go by.
  5. I'm about a mile from Irmo High School and it's thundering and lightening. No rain---yet. The sky looks bad, it looks like it's building up right overhead. I cant hear any drums and that's not a good sign because I can always hear them if they're practicing.
  6. ...from the ridiculous to the absurd. No one is saying the kids all need thunderous applause and lets say someone somewhere actually did post that I think we have enough sense not to take THAT seriously. Or, at least I hope we do. Your "typical mother" and "mommy" comments are "typical" of something you'd post wrt the Cadets. But whatever, Dan. I can see how you'd think only crazed mommy types would object to booing where clear minded men like you would rise above such dribble. What gives you away is that you can't even rise above change. ACK!
  7. What happened to me during finals one year was that a bunch of kids from other corps sat in the open seats around us and yapped throughout the entire show. I complained to the ushers and was told they can sit wherever there is an open seat even if that means next to someone who paid top dollar. Never again.
  8. LOL.Save your feelings for kids who are talented enough to march with a top corps but do not have the confidence to try. Or for those who do but can't afford to. Too many settle for one reason or another. You want to feel sorry? Feel sorry for those who boo kids. They are truly sad human beings. The marching members of the Cadets are on fire and experiencing things most just dream of.
  9. Yeah, and knowing Dan I need to have all of my bases covered.
  10. Selective memory or sour grapes? In any case you are incorrect.
  11. Wow, can't wait to see them. I thought last year was awesome, quite possibly the best show I've ever seen (not the voice part). Too bad I will have to see it in a dome.
  12. Yeah I kinda figured that out when someone with over 600 posts claims not to know the difference between DCI and BOA.
  13. For your statements to have any sort of credibility you should provide back up, ie when you marched or worked under him, "why" you think he's all about himself, something- anything! Otherwise its just more sour grapes, baby.
  14. Until things were to their satisfaction OR until things were done as agreed? Two different animals yet you continue to choose the rabid one.
  15. This is almost laughable Dan. He apparently believes in narration yet you expect him to toss it out after one bad season instead of improving on it- which in case you haven't looked at the scores this season- he accomplished very well. Dan look at the track drum corps has been on for the last 20 years or so. Ticket sales increasing or decreasing? I'm sorry to tell you this but your perceptions dont fill seats or pay bills. Hop has a vision for the future and if someone has a better one - bring it on, rally the other directors and lets get the ball rolling. Dying a slow death is not an option even if it makes you old timers feel better. Oh for pete's sake. You're kidding us right? Is there a rule against this? If not you dont have a leg to stand on. Whining for the sake of whining, eh?
  16. Since spotting evil is usually your role I think we're safe. ^0^ There ya go....such a judgement even after he's stated Hopkins acted respectful.
  17. I said this on page one of the first thread about booing. People have been chomping at the bit to boo the Cadets and Thursday night afforded them the loophole they needed to publically wallow in the mud with other classless individuals then justify it in the light of day. Whatever it takes I suppose to make yourself feel better after acting a fool at a musical performance of young people. Unbelievable.
  18. You guys made the right call.... because the Cadets exemplify class. Great job this season.
  19. Well, here's an example that classless behavior is not limited to booing.
  20. You most certainly did boo the Cadets. You may be buying that line but I'm def not. How sad for you.
  21. Booing from the anonymity of a crowd is faceless which equals cowardly.
  22. I’m not hiding behind anyone so you can save your insults for the next drum corps show you attend. I have never advocated the right to boo be taken away from any idiot who feels the need to express themselves in such a disrespectful manner. My point is that booing an artistic performance is rude. Booing kids is cowardly. Do I want it banned? Heck no but I’ll call it as I see it too, rude and cowardly.
  23. Would you boo them too? Or even defend those who would? :(
