  1. We need 2 sops not 12. Nash got to much sun this weekend. If you are on the fence about marching, come down and see how much fun we are having with the show. We are going to surprise alot of fans.
  2. What are some things you do to fight off drymouth?
  3. Since I spent all my jr. corps years with VK they would get anything they needed( trucks, trailers. horns etc...) Then the same for my corps I'm in now SoCal Dream and to my corps brothers and sisters to the north they would get some too. :)
  4. So sorry Ryan, I'll try to not disappoint you next time. Maybe I should have not worked 12 hours on friday then drive to the riverside show, do the show(which i did hit the trill), leave and get 3 hours sleep then work another 12 hours then go to the walnut show, learn some drill changes and do the show. So again sorry. also our drill writer likes to keep us old folks moving alot
  5. I've been up 26 hours, come on the dcp and see this ####. Let me tell you all who I am. I started in the vk at the age of 14 in 1977. I aged out in 1984 during which I had plenty of chances to march with other corps but did not. I am forever a velvet knight. Being that as it be I went to the "new" vk open house to see what they had to say. There was a few alumni not on the staff there to show our support for the corps. These guys are not the old vk, these guys are bringing back legally the name we made famous. I have no problem with that. Drum corp today needs the style of the vk back. Think of it as this, how would the vk be 10 years later. We will find out this summer. I for one can't wait. Please lay off these kids. They see people who have never marched with vk writing all this crap. Are you trying to change their minds about trying out for vk some how, and for the people who seem to think they are voice of all vk alumni, your not. Seems to me we have some vk alumni with one socal corps ###### at other vk alums that are with the new vkyao. Get over it. You guys need to just run your corps and stop worrying so much about vkyao, remember we had 2 corps before in the oc. competition is good guys. Last thing before I hit the sheets, to the people who don't know #### about vk and think they need to put their 2 cents in about everything on dcp please do us all a big favor and don't.
  6. Thank you for the time and effort on this beautiful tribute.
  7. I've just read all 13 pages ( that took awhile ). I'm happy Troy and the others started vkyao. I marched 8 years with the velvet knights. I had my chances to march bd and garfield but I stayed to be with my vk family. we had so much fun together. People the velvet knights are gone,we all have wonderful memories of them. This new vk whatever style they are will be loved by everybody. I sure would like to see some fun back thou, this new style of drum corps for the most part is pretty boring. son of a beach for life and vk all the way.
  8. Ok, How was LMS last night?
  9. I was in lyons colo. with the velvet knights. when one the the corps moms told us at lunch.
  10. When I marched Vk we would get lemon juice and get a couple of squirts before the show always worked.
  11. 75 scouts for sure. everytime I hear it, the more I love it
  12. thank you for the kind words Ryan. next time your at a dream practice we should talk. 87 and 88 were great shows. i have only heard 92 sure wish vk was around still John
