I'll admit... I don't know the cost of bandwith... however, if they want the platinum service to take off membership wise, they may want to invest in more bandwith. Actually, 30% more to cover all of their events. I'm not insisting that I think this service should entitle us to coverage of every show, just the once a week DCI event. But if you feel feel that this 30% increase is not something DCI can afford (and apparently enough to make you LOL), than I guess this must be the case. I suspect (notice I used the word suspect), that this could be afforded by DCI, especially from the fees we are paying. Please enlighten us bandwith idiots about the exact costs :-)

Thanks for the cookie-cutter response about historical developments.... :-) Clearly you don't understand what I'm complaining about. It isn't the price, it isn't the service, it is the fact that it would be very easy for DCI to post more clips to the on demand feature, since they are taping them and posting clips on their website for free. Because it would not incur them any cost, and since it is relatively simple to do so, it would be great for viewers to be able to see the progress of the corps. We are half way through the season and the latest coverage is nearly a month old!

That is the essence of my disappointment. Especially because I paid to follow the corps I support, and when I lost the signal during their closer in K-zoo, I just assumed that I could catch it again when they posted it online. The question is why are they choosing to provide it for some shows, and not others? I don't think the cost/profit element incurred by DCI is worth of debating... they clearly have the means to easily upload video to their website on a daily basis, so that theory doesn't hold water in my book, especially as a paying customer.

OK, so we all know the newly improved Season Pass cost us nearly 90 dollars this year. I was disappointed that there were not more shows on the schedule, but I assumed (wrongfully) that it was due to DCI not being able to provide coverage of their own events, either in the live form or for later viewing, and purchased the service. I keep seeing video clips of corps on DCI's website from the Lisle show, and most recently the Allentown shows. It bothers me that those of us that paid as much as we did (platinum members) do not have access to video clips of all the corps from every DCI show. Even the Kalamazoo event that was covered didn't have video clips "on demand" within a few days like Annapolis, and I can't understand why this was not the case. So is it just me, or is DCI choosing not to provide premium coverage for these premium prices? I have never found a reason to complain about these paid services before, and I have usually been happy with their attempt to cover events. This year however has made me come to the conclusion that will never subscribe again as it is a major rip-off of what COULD be provided! Am I the only one that feels this way?

Dear Skeptic, How many of the judges were from Ohio or have any relation to the Bluecoats? Centerville is nowehere near Canton (4 hour drive), and is usually packed full of Cavalier fans. :)

Maybe these corps could care less what other corps wear, and choose to wear what they think best expresses their musical identity and image. Ever think of that? That is a BIG factor, don't you think? Most creative people and organizations I know don't make their decisions based on those of others. Personally, I thought it was humorous that SCV changed back to dark pants after one year. I wonder why??? (and we all saw how that year turned out). All that being said, only someone who is blind and deaf would be unable to discern between these 3 corps (both in look and sound). If you fall into either of these categories, please don't take this personally. When you see the corps live (not from some grainy web-cam image), you'll understand.

Here is the reply I got from DCI about the videos (after I emailed them). This 90 dollar premium service sucks, and I want refunded ! More money than last year, incredibly long waits, and suspect tech support ! Seriously, how long does it take to upload a video? I completely disagree... there is a tremendous source of creative and GE potential in the Bluecoats show this year, I think they'll eventually catch Cavaliers, due to Cavies lacking in these departments. Bluecoats didn't seem to have guard uniforms or have a complete guard show, and had a much "shakier" and dirtier run than Cavaliers as well. I expect the gap to close, slowly but surely. Cadets... wow. What a waste of talent from the designers. They are being really stubborn about the whole narration concept, and doing everything to try to make it work... you think they would have learned they obviously don't know how to do this. Crown- How clean! That is good for now, but I worry for them a few weeks down the road. Difficulty wasn't where it needs to be to fight with the big dogs... As much as I hate to think about it, I don't think they will top th Cadets this season. You can always add a little here and there, but you can't redesign the entire program to make it on par with the rest of what will be this year's top 6.
