  1. I'm sure DCi could try more, but the corps themselves could do a hell of a lot more. as long as they seem to be content with being second class citizens, you will not see change. the change must come from within
  2. and just as annoying is the posturing of some BD fans both can get over it (edited because i hit add reply before i was done)
  3. newsflash: BD won. the scores can not be changed. like it or not, they did. accept it. life is too short to ##### about numbers when you have stadium issues to ##### about

  5. i think it's a great idea which is why I posted it. I want to be sure i get my $500 worth next year
  6. that reminds me...that alumni show announcer. now there's an issue
  7. one of my concerns were accoustics, but i didnt ask about the roof being opened
  8. BD had better competition. 2-6 were all capable champions in many other years. in 2002, nothing after Cavies would have won in other years
  9. I'd say there were complaints about more than just the roof. But...maybe this will create the chance to explore other options to you baking in the sun. or...if the roof does open, take the advice you have given to countless others on here: stay home, it creates better seating opportunities for us
  10. you had me til you mentioned the 93 Blue Jays
  11. Bert was huge. Always smiling, always with great stories. we kept those alumni meetings going into the mid 90s. He always came around. I remember the 95 banquet....we had a table with the at that time last 4 charter members left. I think Bert may have been the last

  13. margin of victory is telling but to be honest, 94 BD was so far out ahead of everyone that their scores leveled off and others got closer.
  14. As you all know, DCI has taken many hits on here for issues concerning Finals week in Indy. As a follow up to an email I sent DCI on Sunday, I received this email today: Jeffrey, We thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your continued support of the organizations which comprise Drum Corps International. Later this month, we will be launching an online customer satisfaction survey, providing our valued fans with the opportunity to contribute important feedback regarding the 2009 World Championships in Indianapolis. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience for the more than 5,000 performers taking the field of competition and for each of their loyal fans and supporters. Here you go folks......keep your eyes out on DCI.ORG....this will be your chance to let your thoughts be heard.
  15. ensemble music is suppose to be all encompassing. but often it is very brass focused
  16. and all of the doubling on the low end which was overpowering
  17. exactly. prelims is a show. were there judges there? yes. did they use the DCI scoring system of the times? yes. Did a corps beat Madison? yes. i love 75 Scouts to this day. but they were beaten once. doesn't matter where, under the DCI approved system of that time they were beaten. not tied like 2000 Cadets...beaten
