  1. Not again.....the Cavies have pulled out of more shows during the last four seasons than all the other corps combined. One wonders what their medical process is comprised of. Do they have a corps doctor on tour with them. An RN? How organized is their med team? I have no qualms with them having to pull out of another show, but one has to wonder why they get so sick every year....even pre-covid.
  2. Another spectacular performance by Boston! And yes, despite an extremely challenging week off the field. As the 51 member BAC in '83 used to say...STRENGTH THROUGH ADVERSITY! Keep doing what you're doing, BAC! The audiences are falling in love!
  3. I have revised my top 4 based on tonight's performances on FLO. 1. BD 92.0 2. BAC 91.5 3. Crown 90.5 4. Bluecoats 89.9. (Due to a nearly complete lack of visual design)
  4. Another step up from Boston tonight! Hard work is paying off.
  5. I went to see Chicago in concert a couple winters ago and not only was every horn set up with a separate microphone, but the program even touted the fact that every instrument had its own "Provider Series Mic Kit"....and Provider Series is one of their tour sponsors. The venue was 1/20 the size of Lucas Oil. Also, at least in the top 15 corps, nobody is having to hide weak players anymore with the way auditions go. That hasn't happened in years.
  6. The Cadets are not in the 10th-12th grouping, but two of the corps who are in the 7th-9th tier ended up tied, so it was actually a grouping of 4. I think the judges will have no trouble sorting it out.
  7. I see that the Italian/Shaved Ice truck made its way to rehearsal today! Thank God and the Woodall brothers! More than 80 years of combined drum corps service with BAC!
  8. This will be a spectacular show and could have some interesting results.
  9. I am so proud of this organization and these members. They are moving mountains to catch their White Whale.
  10. Agreed. San Antonio may provide some interesting moments.
  11. That is very possible. The Blue Devils are 20 time World Champions, with incredible member talent, unbelievable staff, amazing organization, and virtually limitless financial resources.
  12. Really? And why is that, BigBird? Because the Boston Crusaders aren't supposed to win?
  13. Boston is on fire. The guard drops don't concern me in the least, because those sevens the weapons throw while to doing all that body underneath them are designed with an expectation of a zero humidity, climate controlled dome with no wind. They will most likely kill it in Indy.
  14. Another great improvement tonight BAC! Thank you, Boston Crusaders!!
  15. Dude, you're gonna now have to hang on everyone's word on dcp on show nights now just like we do. Welcome to the jungle!
  16. So, since people keep bringing up uniforms, I would like to say something that I have never admitted publicly. First, as some of you know, I have been a loyal Boston supporter since I joined BAC in late 1979. NOBODY on earth has more love for the unquestionable mystique of the cadet style uniform, whether it is the one I wore or the one that former Cadets wore. Imagine my shock then, as I stood in the uniform room in Vermont the day we unboxed the 2018 SOS uniforms! I remember seeing a box of lime green material and someone telling me "those are the headbands". I was actually speechless, but I said nothing in front of the kids, most of whom seemed excited about the look. I went back to my RV that night literally with knots in my stomach. But then I gave it some thought...actually hours if thought. I decided that I love my drum corps so much, and the members, fellow alums and staff as well, that I would support them no matter what. An alum and BAC senior corps leader who marched in the EARLY 60s said to me that weekend "I wouldn't have gone that way, but do you realize how lucky we are just to have the corps still around to cheer for?" He was right. And I never forgot his words. Not trying to lecture anyone here in Cadetland....but we are so fortunate to have our 80+ year old corps still out there in an era where Dead Corps International might very well have claimed the impregnable SCV. Support your corps and cheer for your kids.... as is the case with Boston, it belongs to them now.
