  1. Yes....the forecast for the Northern Kingdom region of Vermont is Nor'Easter tonight thru Friday for 14-22 inches. 😀
  2. I'm sure your info here is accurate. I am curious about one point, however. You mentioned that their BOD wasn't involved in or consulted regarding performance matters. I wonder, shouldn't it be that way? My knowledge extends really only to BAC. Their BOD is made up of nearly 50 people, and AFAIK, their sole mission is generating financial support, not only for the corps but also Inspire's other entities like the high school music festivals and the programs for inner city youth. Also, I have heard that GH had been very involved with the show production back in the day. At BAC, my impression is the director steers the ship, but leaves production decisions to the caption heads. Sounds like very different approaches.
  3. We're down to only 7 weeks until Spring Training in Castleton! Woohoo! The corps members and staff get into town on 5/24 and rehearsals begin on 5/25. I cannot wait! Eat'em Up, Boston! !!-!-!!!
  4. No, it was DCI who had money in the bank. The Cadets are broke.
  5. Well, there's Boston, established in 1940 as The Most Precious Blood Crusaders. Nobody can accuse them of not changing with the times, on or off the field.
  6. Your son moved FLAWLESSLY across the field, every year he marched. The trouble is, he's only about 5' 6" (like me) and for people our height, the jazz runs 🏃‍♀️ are an extra burden! 😀 Btw, if he inspires the Troopers to perform like he did, they'll get a medal!
  7. I don't believe so. I think they were in some sort of receivership during 83-85 and were able to retire their debts and reclaim the full name after those 3 years. I'm not an attorney, but it seems pretty clear that the judge has ruled if anyone ever comes out with a new corps that uses the identity in any way, they will also become a co-defendant.
  8. Let's hope for all our sakes that DCI has the resources to fight this tooth and nail.
  9. I know this has got to be a gut punch to their alumni, and I really feel bad for the 2023 corps members and staff. An unlikely 5th place finish and then this. Yikes....
  10. So the man in the original suit is deceased, and now so are Cadets. All that's left for her lawyers to go after now is DCI itself. That may be a tough case to make considering it allegedly took place at a New Years Eve party 42 years ago.
  11. Wow.....so sad! Didn't expect them to come out and say "It's over."
  12. You're probably right. But back in my college days, I always spent spring break working. And also in those days, BAC didn’t have weekend camps. We rehearsed every Friday night and Sunday all day, and nobody ever wanted to miss a rehearsal. It's just what we did. Even now, most of the current drum corps members don't go to spring break in Florida....too busy working toward the summer, and WGI obligations for many. Today's drum corps kids are really not typical Generation Zers imo.
  13. Agree with above...these numbers make the absurd assumption that every corps is going to march the max of 165, even open class. My guess is they do this to help bolster membership in the smaller corps, which is actually a solid idea. I also do not know about All Age being included, but now that they are under the same umbrella I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
  14. So, even though Castleton, Vermont is predicted to get over 18 inches of snow this weekend, Spring starts in 60 days! Can't wait!!!! Woohoo!!!
  15. Yes, and Boston has one or two admin riding each bus now, which leaves even fewer seats.
  16. Also, I wonder which is worse....sending an alternate home in early June with a far reduced fee or having them spin in the end zone all summer, never to get into the show all the while charging them full tour fees AND depriving them of marching elsewhere or working at home? Boston now carries very few alternates on tour, instead calling them up from home should a hole opens. There is alot of misinformation on the above link, including Boston supposedly charging $8000 tour fees. They charge $6000, the same as Bluecoats this year and Cadets last year. And also for the record, they did not bring 10 alternates on tour last summer....not even close.
  17. And for the record, the only reason DCI shows color guard openings for Boston at present is that BAC doesn't set their guard until after the WGI season concludes. The guard audition weekend is in April.
  18. That guard member has since returned to Boston, and made the hornline for 2024.
  19. I believe so. Not only that, I've been told a New Year's Eve party in 1982...about as far away from a DCI event as you can get. Here in Maine, one of the cases against a priest in the mid 80s was dismissed because the defendant was deceased, and the court held that it couldn't be prosecuted because that defendant was obviously unable to face his accuser. Interesting finding, but I'm not sure I've heard of this happening anyway else. (The Archdiocese was the codefendent and also had the case dismissed.)
