  1. I'm sure the decision was for the best JJ, and I know you guys will come back strong. I can't wait to see you guys at I & E in Rochester!
  2. I don't remember the specifics, (Vic Kulinski would be the authority on this as the DCA South Coordinator, or someone (Tom?) from Shenendoah Sound since they are the current DCA South A-35 Champions), but Class A-35 is for corps with 35 members or less. They had some other rules like their entire show had to be between the 35's and in front of the back hash or something like that. Charlie
  3. If I'm not mistaken, starting last year, DCA South had Open Class, Class A and Class A35 at their shows.
  4. I wish I could be there. I still haven't found out who my "Mystery Fan" is.
  5. How do you participate if you have a G Contra or Baritone?
  6. Which ones do your contra's use? The LM-5 or the LM-7. I think I know which ones the Renegades will be using.
  7. Hey Man! Great to hear from you! JJ can attest, Stretch Block isn't the same without you. I hope things are going well.
  8. Lee has been promoted. He may now move two seats closer to the back of the bus.
  9. Well, if Vic was overseeing the design, then does that make JJ the Assistant Flyer Designer?
  10. I only just "discovered" Sr. Corps this past November. I went to a couple of Jr. Corps shows back in the late 80's early 90's, but I never really entertained the idea of joining a Jr. Corps. My sig says the rest.
  11. This was my first DCI Show in my adult life. (I've been sheltered) The one thing that really stood out for me was the Cadets. Every last one of them was out of step. :lolhit: Sometimes I just crack myself up.
  12. I have one for my contra, and I love it. I wouldn't be able to practice otherwise because I live in an apartment. As far as the "Stuffy" sound, I'm not too sure. I found the input switch and set it to "Low" (Low=Louder; High=Softer )and it seems pretty loud through the headphones.. I also keep the reverb turned on. It's not totally silent. I think that if the TV is on, someone in the next room wouldn't be bothered by you practicing with it. My neighbors have never complained, but my cats disappear whenever I practice. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it adds an extra 6 1/2 lbs way out there in the front, so I have to use one of my speaker stands to prop it up. I've never used a practice mute though, so I don't know how it would compare.
  13. OK, now I feel old. I haven't lived up there in 10 years. I do remember when The Tidewater Tides became the Norfolk Tides and they opened Harbor Park. Dave, It's a small world, isn't it? Mark Reimer was the director when I was there. Back then there was a Sr. Corps called the Southern Knights or something, but I don't think that they were around for very long. See you in Rockmart & Good Luck,
  14. Hey, someone else from Tidewater! (Do they still call it that?) It was my first drum corps show too, and it was quite an experience. I'm glad I was able to meet Dave Sroka in your Mellophone Line. It was his CG recruiting efforts that eventually led me to Heat Wave. See you in two weeks and best of luck,
