  1. I remember being in Newark for an indoor show that I thought was in the 70's.......I'm inquiring with a buddy of mine whose mind is a bit fresher.............Also remember it being in White Plains.....Think we may have gone there twice and Newark the one time...........
  2. Sorry Nathan, we got there a little late and left before all the snare drummers played.....Only got to video a few of them.........
  3. Can you be more specific, i.e., are you referring to the two Sky Alum drummers at I & E?............
  4. Can't tell for sure, but that sure looks like Larry McCormick from the back directing....How well I remember those solo's........Just like yesterday.........No wonder they kicked our A_____'s every time we competed against them.......Larry was our arranger/instructor for 3 years and he could sure write quality stuff............Thx Danny......
  5. Thx for the info Harry.....I knew they won Class A - just wasn't sure of the year............
  6. P.S....Just checked more closely @ Moran Recordings on DCA's website.....It says they have converted in addition to 2000-2001 DVD recordings, the top 10 finalists to DVD from 1998 & 1999....I'm not sure Sky made top 10 in 1999 though????........
  7. I've got VHS of 1995 and 1996....Don't know as I have the means right now of converting them to either VHS or DVD's......I do know that the 1995 & 1996 productions were done by C.A.P. (Competitive Arts Productions).....I have a phone #, tried to call it and got a message relating to adult talk - hmmmm ..............Their address then was 341 Ridge Road East, Rochester New York 14621......The phone # if you'd like to try it was 1-800-789-DRUM. but I'm sure you'll get the same message I did.....Also, check Moran Recordings on DCA's website for 1999.....I checked their website and it says they have recordings available from 1999-2001....I know they did VHS from DCA 1998......Good luck...............
  8. sorry for the mispelling - I meant to say 'without a doubt a crowd favorite'......duh - it's back to school for me....LOL
  9. In reply to this, Yokahama Inspires competed twice in DCA -altered their drill and time of show to meet with DCA's criteria......You can check DCA's website and see how they finished........They kicked some major tail and were with a doubt a crowd favorite....I loved them.........
  10. P.S. Guess that makes the record pretty well worthless...........
  11. I have one each of #1, #2, #5 and #9.....I also have an album that I've never ever seen advertsed as well.....I bought it from Tru Crawfords music store in Chicago.....It was recorded and produced by Master Records from the Northeastern Circuit Championship, September 6, 1964 at Agewan, Mass and includes : Sunrisers from Miniola L.I. New York with a score of 85.68 Criterions from Newburgh-Post, Ewen, New York with a score of 77.16 Yankees from Straford, Conn with a score of 74.35 Stateliners from Byram. Conn with a score of 66.68 After all these years it is still in the jacket which has a plastic sleeve over it.....Only problem is, the record is fine but I think one of my dogs some years back, got hold of it and chewed part of the jacket......I probably shot the dog - just kidding...Woops, just noticed that record is pretty well scratched, probably from the dog.......It also has a red Limited Edition sticker on it......
  12. CD of A - Catholic Daughters of America - All girl junior drum and bugle corps which I believe were out of Pennsylvania
  13. I quit !!!!!!!!!!!!.. This kid is unbelievable.............
  14. I live about 40 miles from Marion and usually attended the U.S. Open......I have some of their recordings, but not for that year.......My buddy has oodles of records as well, and he doesn't have it..........He has World Open from that year, but I assume you probably do as well since you marched with Bridgemen.......I'm in agreement with your assumption that there wasn't a recording done that year.....
  15. Me neither bawker......I have an email from Fred Windish that said all requests are being held in exact order of post mark.......Well, I handed mine to a post office worker in the a.m. of Feb 3rd and as I said, if I'm where I think I am, it's probably around the 30 yard line.....If my envelope wasn't post marked as I have been told it wasn't, then I'd sure like to see it.......Rest assured, I will make pay a visit or call my post office tomorrow to see if a non post marked envelope is possible......At this point, I rest whatever case I've made......To some or many probably no case has been made, but to a few so far, I believe my points have been well taken.............
  16. This reply was to bawker and rwrice............
  17. Well, I agree with you and RWrice........I don't understand what's going on........I have kept my ticket orders for the past 3 years and never had a problem with selective seats.......Last year specifically, I requested Row O/Seats 1 thru 4 and got them......The year before, I requested the exact same row same seats, got Row O/Seats 3 thru 6......Right on the 50 yard line.....Year before that, I got a call from someone on the DCA board who didn't know me but I knew them......Their courtesy call was to tell me they didn't have available what I wanted but assured me that I could have same seats one row lower.....hmmmmmmmm......I could go back to 2003 as I have the e-mails, but I don't think it's necessary......I don't know how many seats are in Section 107, but they went pretty quick for ticket order date I believe starting on 2/3/06.........As for motel reservations, I faxed my order on 10/11/05 for the Clarion.....Guess what.....No vacancies...............I did get confirmation for one of the other hotels.......
  18. I have a motel confirmation thank you.....HOWEVER, I am upset because I had to go through DCA's selected travel agency to to get my motel reservations......In the 30 years I've been going to DCA Championships I have ever had to do that....What if I'm just a visitor to the greater Rochester area that weekend, what am I to do?....Case in point, motels in the area refuse reservations unless you go through DCA's travel agent............I'm more upset about my seats as I feel quite a few people are......DCA is telling me that my envelope wasn't postmarked when they received it......They'll have to show it to me because I handed it directly to a post master at a post office and IT was post dated 2/3/06.......Last year I had same seats both for prelims and finals.....Not this year.......hmmmmmmmm......Now that I'm retired and the good Lord willing, think I'll deliver my ticket money in person next year......IF that's allowed.......Like I said, I love senior drum corps and alumni corps, so I will be there regardless......It' will be interesting to see how many more unhappy drum corps nuts post their concerns to this topic....
  19. Well then, that's just swell......Just about where I said my seats are.......Again, I'm not at all happy with the way things were handled this year...........
  20. I mailed my order form on Feb 3rd........Just got my tickets - Section 106........It's hard to judge what yard line this may be, but appears to be about the 30............If I'm wrong I humbly apologize.......All in all, I'm not at all happy with the way DCA has proceeded with things.................The control of the hotels, now the tickets and just for the heck of it, let me throw out to anyone what Plan B would have been had Paetec Field not been ready........hmmmmmmmmm......Is it ready?........Is there parking?........... Have only missed one DCA Championship in 30 years and have always had excellent seats and no problems with reserving rooms......I guess I'm one of one or more that's not to happy with the way DCA is handling things this year.........BUT, because of my love for senior drum corps and alumni, I'll be there....................
  21. I know Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Columbus Ohio plays it every year at their show........You might contact them to see who arranged it and if it's available.......In my opinion it is a nice arrangement.......
  22. Clarion Hotel as I understand it is very close to current soccer stadium not the new Paetec Park.......I've been told by personnel at the motel that it is approx 3 miles from the new stadium......Yet I've also been told a few blocks......Guess they are long blocks huh.........Anyhow, Clarion is the closest any way you slice it........One note, not that it's all that important, Clarion Hotel charges $4.00 a night plus tax to park and you may come and go as often as you like.........Just some FYI...............
  23. Hey PGH guy........Well shame on Jeff (LOL)..........To my knowledge I'm the only only one who has and has copied anything from the Angels in 1967....Pretty sure I made copies for Jeff........Not sure about the Rockets though from 1967?.......May be when I and some other friends of his marched with them in 1972 and 1973..........I'll ask him what he sent ya......Got me curious now........
  24. If anyone has an idea where I can get a recording of Phoenix recording from 1975 DCA please let me know.....Thanks much... Dan Jones dljones@columbus.gov
  25. Unless I overlooked the name, how about the late/great Colonel Truman Crawford......
