  1. If it is anything like the 1994 27th lancers show meaning they do a full Madison uniform of the mid 70's and drill with a performing guard, it will just tear down the stadium. I can imagine the deafing roar now!!!!!You know the memories will cherish any drum corps fans hearts for eternity.
  2. Following lengthy review of the current status of the corps, the Troopers Board of Directors decided today that in the best interest of the corps, they will not field a competitive corps for the 2006 season. “This is the right thing to do, “commented interim director Mike Ottoes following the board meeting. “It’s going to be most difficult on the members, but in the long run, this is the right thing to do.” Over the next 12 months, the organization will focus on securing the proper paperwork and filings, building a solid financial base to operate on, bolster corps management and solidify all corps operations in preparation for the corps return to full competitive status in 2007. _________________ Pat Chagnon Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps Web Administrator http://www.troopersdrumcorps.org :(
  3. Bob Thank You for the compliment. It was the best year of my life in Drum Corps, and pure joy to be a part of the Boston Crusaders. I would do it all over again. If I could....
  4. Mine was the 1979 Boston Crusaders. We were 25 and still alive our Brass line. What a performance at DCI Prelim's In Birmingham, Alabama. We kicked alot of a-- with just 25 solid horn players. The fans were amazed every time we performed, to hear the sounds of a 25 man horn line and what we could do with them. We sounded like a full 60 man hornline. Was that awesome or what????
  5. Matthew, I love your Podcast. I also agree with about 99.9 pecent of what you bring up in the activity.I am an old foggy who played baritone for the Boston Crusaders 1973-1980. To be able put my two cents in on the Troopers goes to the core of my heart, to what the troopers have meant to me through the early 60's till this very day. They truly are one class act. I cant wait every season, if I have not seen the Troopers I go to Quarters just see thier show. I have not missed seeing thier show since I first saw them In Manning Bowl, in Lynn Massachusetts in 1965. So I will sit Thursday and wait for your pod cast. You and your voice are a beacon for us the fan whose voice goes sometimes unoticed. Keep up the good work, you do an awesome Job to keep the average fan informed... Thank You... Bob Kennedy
  6. I caint wait to hear Matt Elcock, hopefully he will be able to help get to the bottom of this sad sad time for the Troopers and all Drum Corps alike, no matter whose fault it is. we as fans of drum corps have to pull together and help support the Troopers at this time, wether money, or just being thier to support the kids and all of the Trooper Corps in general. Just like we support all of the drum corps year in and year out no matter what thier placements. A lot of people ##### about what DCI does. Let us see what we can do as drum corps fans to help them pull through this, then we can be all proud that we helped them back into promince.

  8. I still think the Troopers do a whoop ### show no matter wether in 1st or 21 st place, the fact that they do entertain year after year and still have an effect on many people in the activity says somthing for the corps itself... You know I came from a one of the founding corps who did not make it into the DCI finals for the first 27 years. We struggled through those hard years both financially and membership wise. We did not make it into the top 21 corps some years. But we were so proud and loved our corps no matter what the out come was. That is was what kept the Boston Crusaders going. The Love, Loyalty and proud to be called a Boston Crusader. The Troopers have the same thing going for them. The Troopers are one of the great drum corps of this activity.
  9. We need you Matthew Elcock to help sort this one out, you being a former Trooper!!!!I hope you have a Pod cast ASAP. I know you said every other Thursday Starting last week so you won't be on this Thursday, September 29th 2005 You are the Trooper alumunus with a voice a lot of people listen to. A lot of People love the Troopers they are Americas Corps. Even though they Have not been in the realm of things for several years. People like myself always look forward to seeing them year after year no matter thier placing, although I do want to see them back in the elite. I remember the Troppers of the 60's and 70's and thier late director Jim Jones. Who was one of the founding fathers of DRUM CORPS INTERNATIONAL!!!!!!! The Troppers always gave you a whup ### show. till this day I still wait to see the the Sun burst always done in a variety of different ways. Please let the viewng public know what is going on because I truley do not think DCI will. We do not want to loose the Troopers like we lost the 27th Lancers, Bridgeman Etc.
  10. Boston Crusaders all through the 70's. So many standing O's I cant even begin to count how many we had. \ People were throwing themselves at the corps at the end of Conquest. It was such pure pleasure to recieve each and every one of them... One I do remember though, I think it was in 1978 we were in Bayonne, New Jersey. Veterans Stadium. We warmed up on the starting line, when we turned around each and every one of us had on these huge big bright bright yellow sunglasses twice the size of our faces. Well the crowd roared with laughter, from then on it was standing O after standing O. what a great crowd that was. Oh the memories!!! B) B)
  11. My favorite year was 1977, What a great year before a lot of corps were washed away forever. First year in Denver, and what a party with Garfield the night after finals. memorable corps that year BAC, SCV, Bridgemen, Blue Star,27th,the Bon Bon's,Black Watch. Oh so many good corps that year...
  12. When Blast came to Boston, we sat in the 5th row front. What a sound and the visuals from that angle were awesome, espically when they spread through out the audience. I think you will enloy it no matter where you sit. The show is so well choreographed, also very high energy to boot. :) ENJOY...
  13. 1. Blue Devils 2. Cadets 3. Cavaliers 4. Madison Scouts 5. Phantom Regiment 6. Blue Coats 7. Boston Crusaders 8. Santa Clara Vanguard 9. Glassmen 10.Blue Knights 11.Carolina Crown 12.Spirit Of JSU That is what I think will happen on Saturday, maybe even by the end of the end of the week... I have seen Boston many times this year.
