  1. of course you can vote for any drum corps with your 20 votes! Crown just asks that one of your 20 votes be for us. = D
  2. WE NEED YOUR HELP! URGENTLY! After doing some research on the Chase giving campaign, this is something that would benefit the corps amazingly. Our donations are DOWN from a year ago significantly!!! Here is the question? We believe that if each one of our Facebook and Drum Corps Planet fans voted once, at least 10,000 votes, we would be in the running for the $25,000.00 in December! It's as easy as that. (just click on this link) http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiv...ost&ref=mf# BUT? What if you were to vote and got at least one other person to vote? Take a drum corps, band or color guard friend to the Crown FB page and get them to join...or send them this link. What would that do? Each and every single vote is important to our organization (Yes YOURS!) and this literally takes less than 30 seconds to do. 10000 VOTES IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!!! COME ON CROWN FANS, THAT DONATION FROM CHASE WOULD HELP US GIVE YOUNG PEOPLE THE TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY TO "DEVELOP LIFELONG EXCELLENCE" THROUGH ALL OF OUR MUSIC PROGRAMS. Please help us.... (just click on this link) http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiv...ost&ref=mf# It just takes 30 seconds....
  3. Who has downloaded this? What is your favorite song? "Fright of the Bumblebee" is my personal favorite!

  13. MORE INFO Crown VIP Club at DCI Finals Carolina Crown is pleased to announce its Finals Week V.I.P. Club. We have partnered with Basey’s Downtown Grill and Spirits, and Zink’s Distributing to offer drum corps fans a convenient place to gather and share their drum corps stories with each other. Basey’s is located across the street from Lucas Oil Stadium (from the side two, back sideline exit) and across Missouri Street. It is in the same block as the Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Comfort Suites, within walking distance to downtown Indianapolis shopping, restaurants and other hotels. Owner Greg Basey says, “We are excited for Drum Corps International and the Carolina Crown to be coming back to Indianapolis, and we want to provide their great fans a place to gather and have a convenient and affordable meal before the show.” Basey’s will be closing off its back lot (as they do for Indianapolis Colts home games) and setting up outdoor tables, a stage for live music, TV’s and a beer truck for those of age. For the cost of $30 per person, the Finals Week V.I.P. Club includes: * 2009 Carolina Crown V.I.P.pass and lanyard. * 10% off your food everyday - starting Wednesday through Saturday of Finals week. * 10% off a one-time purchase at the Crown merchandise booth. * A commemorative t-shirt that you can pick up at Basey's during Finals week. * Preferential service for V.I.P’s. * Live music Saturday afternoon starting at 4pm with a special appearance by Al Chez, drum corps legend and trumpet player on “Late Night with David Letterman” and also Joey Pero of drum corps and recording fame. * Free Carolina Crown giveaways. * The Budweiser Girls and Bud giveaways. Price includes shipping of t-shirt and lanyard. Fans can purchase a 2009 V.I.P. lanyard by clicking on the link WWW.CAROLINACROWN.ORG or by stopping by Crown’s souvenir booth anytime during the tour, or just visiting Basey’s Downtown Grill and Spirits during DCI week. As a part of Zink’s Distributing “Responsibly Matters” campaign, the company will offer free taxi rides for those who feel they should not be driving to their local hotels (within a designated service area), or they will help patrons secure transportation to hotels outside of the designated free-ride area. The Carolina Crown would like to thank Basey’s owner, Greg Basey, and the Zink’s Distributing family, especially Marketing Manager Mike Stone (a drum corps alum), for all of their hard work to make this the premier place to have fun at Finals! Finally, we would like all remind all of our fans: Please drink responsibly, appoint a designated driver and keep the road safe for everyone.

  15. 7/14 Update - As of pre-show time (4:30PM) here in Ocean Springs, MS things seem to be improving with the health of the performing members. During the afternoon rehearsal block the spirits are high and attitude was one of determination for getting back to performing tonight. Although the corps looks to be performing with 12 or so members still dealing with the "bug" and missing tonight's performance, we are confident the crowd will enjoy this opportunity to see and hear and incredible group of young people perform "the Grass is Always Greener". Thanks for the support, Jim Coates Carolina Crown
  16. 7/13 Update - As promised, this is an update to yesterday's email about the "cold bug" that has hit the corps. Fortunately, it is a 24-hour type "bug" and most of those affected yesterday have returned to rehearsal today. Unfortunately, a number of other members have shown symptoms today as the "bug" works it way through and out of the corps population. After discussion with Drum Corps International, it was decided that it would be best for Carolina Crown and the other participating corps if we did not attend tonight's show in Ft. Walton Beach, and instead moved on to our next site to get the entire corps a full night of rest. Therefore, rehearsals are ending at dinner tonight and we will be moving the short distance to our Mississippi housing site. Again, we continue to obtain medical consultation and are treating the "cold virus" as recommended. I will provide additional updates as appropriate. Best Regards, Kevin Smith Carolina Crown ________________________________________________________________________________ _ Thanks for your well wishes and prayers. The admin team on the road is working hard to make sure this bug is taken care of. I am sure they will take all measures to get the kids the rest, attention and medical needs to get them healthy and performing asap. Thanks again! = D

  19. The thoughts and opinions of our fans and parents, while appreciated, are not the opinion of the corps and its management. We do support their right to speak freely and with enthusiasm about our season, but hopefully not at the expense of other groups. We hope that you will continue to support the corps through whatever means is best for you and we are happy to "receive with grace" your well wishes for our season, as the corps itself "receives and attains with grace" over the course of the summer. Have a great summer and see you down the road.
  20. Yup, we did... great observation of the show. We have a lot of work to do to get the show to the place that the design teams wants, but it is great that some people are understanding the show already. I am sure there are many more that are "getting it." Feel free to come to our Facebook page (its free too!)... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Carolina-Crown/21330342640 ... we post photos and the fans chime in with comments all the time. Have fun!
