  1. In order: Blue Devils Carolina Crown Phantom Regiment Crossmen Blue Knights Bluecoats
  2. Sorry, I thought all of the judging was subjective... my bad.
  3. Unless *insert favorite corps here* scores *insert number here* it's the fault of those darned judges...
  4. A question... is Lupo's still there? great cheap food and drink before the show
  5. 15 -Blue Devils 24- Blue Stars 17 - Bluecoats 9 - Boston Crusaders 20 - Carolina Crown 11 - The Cavaliers 10 - Colts 18 - Crossmen 07 - Glassmen 22 - Madison Scouts 10 - Mandarins 06 - Pacific Crest 25 - Phantom Regiment 08 - Pioneer 18 - Santa Clara Vanguard 15 - Troopers + Devs - Cavs
  6. OT: Has anyone seen a show at the Columbus Crew stadium before? Thinking about going down there tomorrow night. Thanks!
  7. I liked Crown's arrangement of 'Watermark' better, but this is nice
  8. The DM for the Blue Stars does need some super glue for that plume, though
  9. If you're looking for deep meaning in a drum corps show, your 'education' has taught you nothing. Smirk and nod to the academics, for we all know that they're right.
  10. 1988 Devils at Allentown, amazing. 1992 Star, Butler, PA... there was a tornado warning, and they played anyway 1993 Star, DCI north at Rich Stadium... the show for how shocking it was, and the encore was even better 1994 Devils, Boston finals.... even though it didn't help the video, the fog that night gave a surreal quality to that show 1995 Scouts at Allentown. 'nuff said. 1999 Devils at Allentown... watching their horns and drums in the afternoon was every bit as entertaining as their show that night
  11. 86 Spirit of Atlanta 88 Suncoast and VK 89 Cadets, Bluecoats and Freelancers 90 Madison, Crossmen and Bluecoats 91 BD and Crossmen 92 Crossmen and VK 93 BD 95 Carolina Crown, Regiment and Madison
  12. The thing that is absolutely frightening about the Devils... they still have a ton of cleaning to do (as is the case with all of the corps). Crown put on an amazing encore, hats (and plumes) off to ya!
  13. Good grief... the 'top 12' is more like the top 16-17 these days. Bravo!
  14. Madison performed well, but it's as if the brass arranger and the percussion arranger have never met. I liked it anyway.
  15. Done. Hope they can make it through the summer.
  16. Blue Devils 1991, Star 1993, Garfield 84 and Madison 90..... None of those shows won, but they really elicit a strong emotional response every time I watch/hear them.
  17. Or, as Dennis Miller once put it... a choice between hospital food and airline food.
  18. Back to the original post... every activity has 'diversity', but some activities appeal to certain groups. I think that the cost of touring can be prohibitive, and that's why you see certain individuals in world class corps. DCI has changed in that way over the last 20 years, and the performers' abilities are astounding. Lamenting the fact that diversity isn't present is folly.
  19. If it's something dear to you, it's tradition. If it's something you don't really care about, it can be interpreted as 'progress' or 'evolution'. Given the fact that the whole activity is based upon opinion, this isn't surprising. Yay tradition! Yay progress! ... er, hard to define those terms, huh?
