weedyweidenthal
yeah Will, I was thinking the same thing. It was fun hearing them and seeing them at those parades. I thought they sounded really good. -Weedy
Daave
...the more I listen to that show, the more I think they got shafted a bit during the season. ...from your lips to any of the judges ears. Shafted a bit is putting it lightly. Let us hope that the 50th anniversary show is better received, at least by the judging community. Gentleman Marcher
First drum corps show to get me to reflexively yell "YEAH!!!" when they hit the Sunburst at the Louisville KY show. This is a performance that will always hold a special place in my heart.
prodigal bari
It is hard for me to be objective about the Troop; but I must admit that after seeing the ending of the show and hearing the APD (and comparing them to the immediate corps above them) I am shaking my head as well. This corps shoud have placed higher IMHO.
PercussiveEric
They were at almost every show I saw this summer, and I'll have to agree that the judges didn't catch on. It was a FANTASTIC corps this year. Can anyone say EPIC music?
Jared_mello
great recording, and happy to see that level of performance from them as well. im not a fan of ending shows on a unison note personally but i thought the music fit them really well otherwise. awesome seeing them around this summer, most definitely. Didn't the arranger from The Bluecoats also write The Troopers show? I agree that it was great to see them perform at such a high level. Pinwiz
I don't care where they placed, but their performance time in Pasadena was a CROCK and completely affected their Quarterfinals score. Remember, Troop was within 0.2 of Cascades the weekend before. Not to open this discussion again, but if the corps who competed at all the regionals had been given the credit they deserved in the lineup on Thursday then Cascades would have probably make Semis and Troop could have very likely took down Southwind. I hope this is fixed for next year.
morganhill
Agreed. Why they wound up in 20th place is anyone's guess. I am certain we can expect bigger and better things coming out of Casper next summer. Who knows, they may even be knocking at the Top 12's door?! notelvis
I've got to go with Memphis Blues - I wasn't there in 1980 but I was there in 1983 when they closed the doors and sent us home. See that sweet logo on my avatar - I'll try to get a bigger one on here eventually!
