Don't know the guy in the black T on the field but, looking at the pic, the one to the far left in the stands is a graduate of St. Rocco's Cadets of Brooklyn and currently plays snare with Sky's Alumni ... his lovely wife next to him was also in St. Rocco's and now marches with the Alumni's A-Section ...

:-)

I thought Kenny Rogers had stuff removed, looks like this Joker had a lot of something added..... LOL

IMHO, More interesting would be guessing who the Gentleman is in the black t-shirt on the field..... He's a newly minted WDCHOF'er! :thumbs-up: (at the time Charlie Groh took this photo)

There's about 7 DCP'ers in this pic though few of them post on DCP, even fewer of them are Guess Who'ers.

I have been in contact with Lindap and we will beta test a photo posting in a day or so.

Meanwhile, let's guess who the man in the Hawaiian shirt at the center of the last photo might be, and when/where it was taken.

Could it be Kenny Rogers, fresh back from re-hab?

F

The photo was taken at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD.

On the wall separating the decks, instead of listing notable players' names, or championships won, the things listed are actual "shooting war" battles and military campaigns involving the Marines through the years.

I know it's a common thing in football to talk about "battles"... "warriors".... "fighting in the trenches"... etc., when referring to game action or players. But at this stadium, those honored are real warriors, and heroes.

The man on the field, smiling and wearing the T-shirt... has been involved with many corps through the years, as a performer, instructor, and administrator.

CT Hurricanes, Bridgemen, Heat Wave... to name a few.

A decision he made while with Heat Wave from Florida helped change DCA history, IMO. Stay tuned for that answer. LOL.

"... More interesting would be guessing who the Gentleman is in the black t-shirt..."

Hint: His initials are the same as an abbreviation for a once very popular drum corps from CA, known for not taking the world too seriously, a trait he has often demonstrated, as well.

Wow ... guess I do know him ... just not from that angle ... and without his Cheeseburger In Paradise getup ... or drumming on a grill ...

:-)

This is a test. It is only a test. Had it been an actual Guess Who you would have been instructed to begin leaving hints by now regarding the big kid bari in the back row.

(Actually, here's one: on the field every year at DCA )

If you know him, leave another hint.

He does look familiar, just not able to put a name to it.... (Is his name one that would Groh on me?)

Behind Dee would be, well.... Bea... heh

Donna is sitting behind, and in between Bea and Gus (Gus is waving) and there's a Bon-Bons DM beside Gus to his left. (She is wearing a black top with white slacks.)

"VK" and the guy in the green "Fran Haring look-a-like Hawaiian shirt" also have a couple of things in common. 1974 Rookies together and Penguins!
