gsksun4
Hmmm.... do they make good pets? Well, they won't fetch if that's what you mean. They're much larger than your typical Florida anoles or chameleons. Much much larger.
NYSkyliner
If you *know* who it is.... please wait a while (not everyone is on here all day or even daily for that matter) If there have been no Guesses..........Then give a *challenging* hint. When giving hints on these try to be creative and just dangle the tiniest tidbit. Make people really think / work on it. Then wait it out a while before tossing another tiny vague tidbit... C'mon we've got to make these last a little longer. PLEASE?? For a little more insight on the workings of this thread check out pg. 790 post #7894. Also, any comments made MUST be made in good taste... this is a fun loving thread... not a revenge match. Please spew your venom elsewhere. Please submit any questions and / or pics in their full size (preferably JPG format), with full description - names, Corps, Stadium, Year... etc. to: The *Guess Who* Mailbox Thanx in advance! All that said and out of the way... Guess Who these Legends are... # 301 ? I want stories here!! Spew your history! Carmen Cluna and Hy Dreitzer, 2 of the original members of the Skyliners Dinner club. Other members of of said club were Lefty Mayer, Pepe Notaro and Jim (Vince) Salamone. The John mentioned was John "Grass" Urspruch (sp). Maybe you should have googled. If you don't know how you buddy can give you some pointers. You're west coast, these are east coast. Much larger. Not Komodo Dragon large, but large. They floss with palmetto bugs. And, you don't give them a name like a pet, you shoot them with a tranquilizer dart and tag them. Edited July 28, 2009 by gsksun4
dukecornwell
The guy on the left came from the same area in Brooklyn that all of the greats come from, my neighborhood. lol Some of the things we did as New York Skyliners were borderline crazy. The guy on the left went on to be a drill guy while the big guy started to arrange music. Some times they would work together and produce some good stuff that went down in corps history. I had the pleasure of marching for both while they were together. The corps had a distinct sound but always had trouble marching, hence the guy on the left came on board to help out. The marching problems were always attributed to our drum line. They could play but when it came to actually moving their feet that's where we would have many issues. lol The big guy would always stand on the bus because he would have trouble finding a seat, even though the bus was half full, of half empty depending on your sex. The bus rides were not very long as they were usually from the contest stadium to our practice area. That reminds me, I don't remember having assigned practice areas. Wasen't it first come got to practice where ever the wanted, unless it was Skyliners or Cabs because I don't remember anyone corps challenging us. If we wanted a certain, we just took it over. Not very nice in today's corps, but lets face it their different and I think for the better. I'm getting old now so I feel differently about being bully's, anyway back to the pic. The big guy's name is a greeting and the smaller guy's name is an opera. That's clues btw. More stories to follow.
