Ron will serve the Crusaders as Visual Consultant for the 2008 season. Ron Abate' is owner and primary Visual Designer of "Company Front Productions" as well as a program design consultant and clinician to many organizations across the US and Canada. Ron has facilitated educational events to the MENC of The Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, Mid York Color Guard Circuit, the New York Federation of Contest Judges and clinical offerings in pageantry arts education to high schools and colleges across the US. He has been visual designer, consultant and educator to many notable units including: The Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps, The Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps, The Cicero-North Syracuse HS "Northstars" Marching Band, Laurens "Jaguars" Color guards, The Piscataway HS "Superchiefs" Marching Band, The Rochester Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, West Genesee HS "Wildcats" Marching Band and the Kingston Grenadiers Drum and Bugle Corps of Ontario, Canada to name a few. Mr. Abate' is a member of: The International Trumpet Guild, An adjudicator for: The East Coast Judges Guild, Drum Corps International, NYFCJ, NYSFBC, PFCJ, USSBA, MAC, ODCA, NESBA, NYSPC, and SFWGA. Ron is also an Associate Member of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame. He is also a former music and special education professional and a certified Crisis Intervention Specialist (youth at risk emphasis) currently pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology. Over the past 20 years, he has served on the board of directors in most of New York State's pageantry arts organizations. He is also a member of the Visual Caucus for the DCA Task Force. In the local community Ron has been Vice President of the board of directors for the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in Utica, NY. He resides in Utica with wife Carrie (who is also an educator and director of the Mt. Markham Mustangs Colourguards). Welcome Back Ron! The 2008 Season for the Rochester Crusaders Kicks off on Sunday November 25th at 9:00am and runs till 3:00pm. It will be held at Hope Hall School located at 1612 Buffalo Rd. Rochester, New York 14624. We currently have openings in all sections of the corps and are excited to see what the 2008 season brings. Founded in 1947, The Rochester Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps is a 501c3 non-profit musical, visual and educational organization that provides quality instruction that focuses on a musical and visual program that is both artistically and technically challenging. While being a competitive unit which travels all over the Northeast, we strive to bring the Rochester community closer to the unique activity of Drum and Bugle Corps which we perceive as an art form. The Crusaders also strive to keep the spirit of competition and the camaraderie throughout the Drum Corps community. The 2008 season is sure to be even more exciting with more growth for the Rochester Crusaders. We are accepting applications in all sections. Ron wrote some of the best drill I have ever marched in my years of drum corps. He made us tenors RUN RUN RUN and it was always fun. He can turn a bad day into a good one in 2.2 Congrats Ron and CRU!
