oldtimedrummer
I believe BD played, "One More Time Chuck Corea", but I can't recall the year.
HOOKEDBYLEGEND78
I believe BD played, "One More Time Chuck Corea", but I can't recall the year. The years were 1981 through 1983, but the artist was not MT but Singers Unlimited. The 1982 BD version is one of the sweetest charts and performances of all time!!! Dale Bari
John Ariatano did an really good arrangement of a tune by Manhattan Transfer called "Y-Not" (I think that was the title) for the 1988 Bayone Bridgemen. BUT....the corps folded after they marched in the West Orange St. Patricks Day Parade. That arrangement was fun to play and not sure if another corps ever played it or if John re-did it with someone else? It was also 20 years ago so my memory may be a bit fuzzy. L In DCA, the Steel City Ambassadors played "Why Not?" for a perc feature in both 1985 & 1986. The song featured a set of tuned automobile brake drums played by the battery like a giant xylophone. Shame on you, John (lipsprain), for missing that one.

Especially since I was just on the SCA website yesterday and was reading about that drum solo.

sburstall
** passes note back to Steve that says NOT ALL SONGS SUNG BY MANHATTAN TRANSFER WERE WRITTEN BY MANHATTAN TRANSFER **Shesh. I know that. Shesh. Just saying that if anyone has a question about music that has been played by a specific band then they look at corpsreps.com first. Maybe DCP needs to make this links more available, or put in a DCI/DCA FAQ.
ssorrell
Spirit talked about doing "Down South Camp Meeting" and "Operator" back in the mid to late 80s, but it never came to be...obviously.
