ItsOnTheField
"And it'll be a dance derby!""What? That'll never work." "Then we'll do it backwards!" "Brilliant!!!" Brilliant if it was original, maybe
kmansdrummin
"Hey, I found these snare drum heads made of Kevlar, and they don't break!" "But you can't hear them." "They don't break." "But they don't sound like snare drums." "They don't have to be tuned, and they don't break" "But what are you going to do if you need a snare drum voice?" "We'll put a concert snare drum in the PIT!! And the Kevlar heads DON'T BREAK!" "HMMMMMMMMMMMM. Saving money on heads, less tuning, BRILLIANT!!! bluecoats88
My picks:Crossmen '95 - classical because? boxy grey unis because? HH Crossmen were still using the black/white uni's they had since 1990 in 1995.
madscout96
In the fall of 1987: One corps' staff said, "Let's do a Stravinksy Ballet this year! It's eclectic and the judges will love it!" "Brilliant!" Another corps' staff said, "Let's do Porgy And Bess by Gershwin! It's jazzy, southern and soulful, just our style!" "Brilliant!" Little did the staffs of Star of Indiana and Spirit of Atlanta realize that they had entered into a portal that made them switch places with each other for the duration of the staff meeting, causing each corps to perform the other corps' show in 1988. The rest is history.
madscout96
Crossmen were still using the black/white uni's they had since 1990 in 1995. Yeah but also at that meeting... "I know, let's use SHAKOS!!!" "uh... ok?"
Dale Bari
How about this...Gee, every song from Stan Kenton's "Cuban Fire" album has been done by a drum corps except "Recuerdos"... "Recuerdos" was done by '82 Freelancers. Perhaps you're thinking of "La Guera Baila"? (Track 5, right before "La Suerte")
madscout96
"Hmm... I know this great Holsinger piece..." "Nah, I don't like it." "Let's see if we can get the rights to the sountrack of that new Tim Burton movie, you can't go wrong with Danny Elfman's music." "Yes you can" "Umm... should we do... Irish music?" "YES!!!! That's it, brilliant!!!" Pioneer, every year. lol... I <3 U PIO :) Edited April 30, 2008 by madscout96

CapRegBari
Apparently SOMEBODY did "Judges still don't get the sundial. What can we do?" "How about we add pictures to the side that vaguely reference times of day??" "By cracky, he's got it!!!" "But won't they still think that we're doing a Jaws show?" "The mariachi band should clear that right up." "But...... wait, mariachi?" "Quiet, shark-pusher! Go push something."
