The Official 2008 Madison Scouts Discussion Thread

Wow, still no Tom Brace?? I sure hope he's ok! I mean, surely he wouldn't be so shallow as not to admit when he's wrong or anything. He was more than happy to let us all know how certain he was that the Scouts wouldn't make finals, but I figured he'd be the first one here offering congratulations...but 2 days and still nothing.

I want to know how to get that GO SCOUTS! emoticon... anyone care to post the secret code for that one?

Should be an exciting show tonight... the Scouts can perform with absolutely no pressure and just bring their best show to the field. My son is definitely looking forward to stomping his flag pole!

GO SCOUTS!!!!!

Probably my last post this week.

1. Alumni...pay your dues.

2. Good luck Madison...today...tomorrow, Friday, and hopefully on Saturday.

3. Baraboo. Enough said.

4. Thanks to the volunteers who were able to give of themselves this season. It's truly the most exhausting, never ending, sweaty, hard, and rewarding job anyone can do. I always was blown away when the marching members thanked me as they often did. I wanted to thank them for what they do. Nice when life works out that way.

5. Mr. Spanos and the rest of the staff. I said two years ago, we'd know by now...well, I know Madison is in capable hands at present.

6. Alumni....pay your dues. It's worth a second mention. And while I am at it...there are tons of non-alumni fans on this thread...one of the longest in DCP history I imagine. To you non-alums out there....it's really easy to click on that link that Linda always has in her signature. $100 is two weeks of PB&J!!! Best story of the entire thread in my opinion.

7. So good luck to the Scouts...GO SCOUTS!!! with the 3 exclamation points and whatnot. It's been fun conversing/arguing/getting MAD (get it?)/ with all of you. Hopefully we all have learned a few things.

8. Steve Powers is a great asset to the Scouts.

9. Jeff Koehn is a fine humanitarian and a wonderful artist.

10. GO SCOUTS!!!

And finally, may the Scouts achieve success this week as they individually and as a corps define it. And may they have the safest of travels to and from their rehearsal site to Bloomington and home from there.

[horns down]

This post is from last Wed. when Tom stated it would be his last post of the week.

I may not agree with Tom all the time but he paid his $100.00 to the "JOIN THE CORPS" fund raiser and thats a lot more than A LOT

of alumni have done.

Great job this week Scouts, can't wait to see you all at the banquet in Sept.

I really really wish I was in Indiana for tonight.

I sent my $100 in... plus $25 more.

I'd send $100,000 if I could... But for that I'd want one of the old buses with my seat in it.

OK, so I cheated...

Copy one of Geno's icons onto your clipboard, switch to "rich text editor" in the forum reply screen, and paste it in. Voila!

Thanks for the cool icons, Geno!

Thanks so much, Scouts of 2008, for an awsome show!!! Also, congratulations on making finals. As a long-time Scouts fan, I am somewhat disappointed in the Scouts alumni for not doing a better job of supporting the Scouts financially. The Cavaliers alumni just contributed over $500,000 to the Cavaliers. The Scouts aumni have contribued about $31,000 this year. Come on, Scouts alumni, it's not to late!!

Oh, ok. *whew* must have missed that one! Good thing, too...I was worried he might have "passed on" ($1 to the late George Carlin).

And let's go alums...if you haven't paid your dues, now is the perfect time to pony up!
