PR_ducky
A topic on memorobelia in the historic section sort of prompted this. I was curious, if you came across a DCI ring on eBay, how much would you pay for it? It sounds bizarre, but they pop up on eBay once in a blue moon. A DCI ring is something you can't really put a value on, but I gave it some thought. Mine cost me 5 years of marching as a member, plus 4 years of instructing. I figure $1000 for each year I marched, and probably about the same in lost income for each year I instructed, so a total of $9,000 LOL Now I am not suggesting anyone in their right mind would pay $9k for a silver ring, and not saying I would sell (not saying I wouldn't either LOL) but we all know DCI rings are true treasures. So, with some effort to keep it serious and in perspective, How much would you pay?
NR_Ohiobando
none. I didn't win it at DCI Finals so it means nothing.
PR_ducky
none.I didn't win it at DCI Finals so it means nothing. well of course thats the correct answer, but not everyone feels that way. There are plenty of collectors who have a shelf full of super bowl rings although they never played pro ball. Remember, this is all hypothetical
PhanFan
Do the MMs have to buy the rings? Or in this case, the MM's parents?

(For instance if it was a Madison 88 ring it would probably mean more to me than the Cadets 05 ring) Maybe when I'm older and have a job that number will change lol
PR_ducky
Do the MMs have to buy the rings? Or in this case, the MM's parents? didn't pay anything for mine as an instructor. so i assume the members certainly don't. Pretty sure they are provided by DCI. One note though, they usualy take ring sizes in the lot after the show. If they did that this year, make sure to get sized again at a jewelry store this week and change your order. I remember in 96 everyones hands were swollen from the summer heat and exertion and as a result most peoples rings were like 2 sizes too big when we got them in November LOL
Supersonic
none.I didn't win it at DCI Finals so it means nothing. Same here. Why the heck would I want a ring I didn't win?

Mine is a 96 Regiment ring, historical for several reasons. Regiments first win, DCIs first tie..... Know I wouldn't sell for $300 LOL wondering if anyone will actually throw up a number that makes me pause :) I can't imagine selling it, but hey, everyone has a price.
