This is Kevin Gamin, Managing News Editor of Drum Corps Planet, welcoming you to today's LIVE coverage of the 2008 DCA Alumni Spectacular at Rochester, New York's PAETEC Park. The first corps will be stepping off shortly and the DCP team of John Donovan, Danielle Potts, Jeff DeMello, Charlie Groh, and myself are getting ready to provide you with the best coverage of the show short of actually being in the stands. Thanks for joining us today and enjoy!
kevingamin
National Anthems of Canada and United States are complete. We have a contingent of French Canadians in the audience, most likely associated with Les Diplomates, who were singing their national anthem proudly. kevingamin
The Optimists have a nice bass cadence to bring the corps onto the field.
kevingamin
I can't see the full line, but the snare line looks enormous. And intimidating.
kevingamin
The drum major, as part of his salute, does a "Picard Maneuver" with his uniform jacket before saluting. Fun.

kevingamin
9 snares, by the way. Company front already! Crowd responds happily. Another sop soloist as the corps comes to a halt.
kevingamin
The corps has now come to the front of the field in an arc formation. The drum line has moved forward and is now performing a solo. Lots of stick visuals from the snares. They have those see-through shells. 4 basses and three cymbals round out the drum line.
