As time unfolds, The Kilties will be making available a private Internet link for all membership applicants to view and download evaluation materials for the corps' upcoming December 6th and 7th event.

The evaluation material is used simply to determine where a potential member's talents and skills will best benefit themselves, and the corps in general.

Following applying for membership, each potential member is contacted personally acknowledging receipt of their application and to answer any questions they may have. Access information to the evaluation material will follow approximately 45 days prior to The 2009 Kilties opening camp.

The Kilties are a "All Age" co-educational corps with it's founding roots dating to 1934. The corps will perform in approximately 20 performances in 2009 consisting of competitions, exhibitions, parades, concerts and clinics.

The Kilties have a fundimental format of "weekend only" performances.

Applications for membership are being accepted in color guard, percussion battery, brass, front percussion ensemble, Honor Guard and support staff.

To apply for membership, history of the corps, schedules, plus more......please visit The Kilties website located HERE.

From Scott's Notebook

By Scott Stewart, Director

2008 was a year of change, growth and transition for the Racine Kilties.

We fielded the largest (112 performers at DCA) corps in the history of the organization and in many ways, the finest as well. The field show was conceived, produced and taught much earlier than usual. The improved commitment of the membership to excellence in rehearsal and every parade, concert and field show that the corps appeared in prompted many new and old followers of the activity to comment very favorably on the upward direction the corps had taken.

This is not to say that the season was without its challenges, but the important thing to note here is that the challenges were met head on -- and solutions were found. For those that could not be solved during the season, we continue to work on now so that this year’s experience for the membership, the audiences and the those that come into contact with the Kilties for another reason will be even more positive in the new year.

Here’s to a great 2008 -- and an even better 2009.

Wea Winnea Bea Daunted,

--Scott
