Michael Boo
For my money, Mr. Boo, I enjoyed the format from either 2005 or 2006. Then please feel free to write in to info@dci.org and express your sentiment.
ContrasAreFun
Anything that is NOT from this decade or has ever been shown in the 4 year history of the countdown. With that said: 1987 SCV 1988 VK 1990 Star 1999 Madison 1993 PR and just for the fact I've never seen it- 1985 Suncoast Edited September 3, 2008 by ContrasAreFun

Bob J
Does the "Countdown" make money? If so, why can't there be 2, a classic ('70s, '80s and '90s) and a modern (2000 - 2008) with 2009 camp videos. Let's make the Classic countdown feature inactive corps from the DCI era! 1979 Northstar 1985 Suncoast 1980 Bridgemen 1981 27th Lancers 1975 Muchachos 1972 Kingsmen 1984 Freelancers! SF2K4
Wow, if some of you only want to see shows from 2007-2008 why not just get the DVDs? Let's get some history out there, shall we? Now I might not be the best judge on what's GOOD history but... nor do I remember what the old ones were after the first CC... but: The Cadets 1987 Phantom Regiment 1984 Madison Scouts 1995 (I think this was actually in one that I missed... zoiks) Madison Scouts 1996 The Cavaliers 2000
dc oldtimer
I know this is the "DCI Classic Countdown" but I wonder if there was any chance that they throw in some really old videos... pre-DCI? It might be great for us old farts to see some old time drum corps on the big screen, plus it could be a learning lesson for the younger folk. I'm not talking three hours of prehistoric drum corps, maybe one or two shows. My guess is there might be some rights issues but I've learned that anything can be worked out for the right price.... except maybe the 1981 finals broadcast in Canada
jwillis35
Yeah, it wasn't called the classic countdown last year. And I agree, they need a break from that format. Not all shows are classics, and after a while you run out of that type of epic show, where everyone is trying to put together the best top 12 ever. I think this year they should do the following: 1. Pick two corps from the 70s 2. Pict two from the 80s 3. pick two from the 90s 4. pick two from the 2000s So you pick 8 corps, 2 from each of the last four decades. This helps to keep some perspective to the activity, continually allowing for history to shine, but also allowing the last two decades to be present as well. Having 8 corps would allow DCI some time to show their features, and it might also allow them to show some quick footage of this past season.
