BlooContraGuy Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 for the texas camp, there were about 45-50 horn players from what i remember. i cant remember exactly... 10 tubas - 6 1/2 vets, 3 1/2 rookies 4 or 5 euphs - 0 vets 7-9 mellos - 1 vet and a bunch of trumpets and baris. - 4 vets a bunch of percussion hopefuls and about 30 guard auditionees I heard that the Ohio camp was much bigger. Didn't see a ton of vets, but Bluecoats have been a BIG Texas corps since 01, so I'm sure that was only half of the story. No new show info was released. Guard looked much improved. Hornline did a Gabrielli piece and a couple other short ditties. Drums did 3 exercises. Now we just need a good Texas report and it'll be possible to see how the progress is actually coming along. Been following the Coats since they started camps back at my old HS (Cedar Park) in 01. Other corps' TX auditions must be pulling people away. Blue used to be the only Div. 1 show in town. The overall quality of the new people was really good though, so im not too worried. The brass staff seems quite content with the talent this year.
