Cascades Approved For 2009 World Class Competition

Recommended Posts

Didn't they have music out for their 2008 show? I wonder if they'll keep that? One year they had .midi files on their main page of their complete opener. Had to be 07 or 08.

They're doing the show they had planned for '08 in this year.

I know, it's still tough. 48 horns is much simpler to write for.

Yeah I asked the same question on the open class forum a week or so ago and one of their staff members said they wanted that number. In some ways it is good I guess. If they have a soloist they can have multiples of 8 and if not the can still make a block with multiples of 7.

The guy I talked to seemed like he knew what he was doing and didn't seem worried at all. So, I will trust that it is all well.

Yeah, I looked up their drill designer just for kicks. It seems like he's pretty well established so I'm sure they won't have a problem.

the tubas can then be the odd section out, if you have to.

They're tubas. They're always the odd section out.

kurt, drill designer here, ha.

49 allows for a block 7x7

and also allows for a wedge, very important.

Divisible by 4:

16 trump

16 bari/euph

8 mello

but 9 tubas

the tubas can then be the odd section out, if you have to.

fun fun

good call. I thought about the block....but never broke it down by sections. Of course, i only write drill for bands
