nah, it means if you get 1-2 water breaks, you definitely don't need a gallon jug b/c there's no way you will drink that much water (and you wouldn't be able to finish a half gallon either). Therefore, a half gallon would be big enough, and a full gallon would be excessive.

Of course, there is also the philosophy that you should "drink enough so you feel uncomfortable" so you can go longer between breaks. :lol:

For what it's worth, I rarely finished my gallon jug during a 4 hour block. Hated ice. It made my stomach cramp up.

Here's some wisdom on that one... When you're down South, you'll go through every bit of water you have, but as soon as you come back north of the Mason Dixon, cut back on the amount of water you drink on cloudy/cool days (After Texas/Arkansas/Kansas, 75-80 is a cool day.) You'll have to pee every five minutes. I almost didn't need water breaks by the third day in PA.

agreed. I don't think I ever finished my gallon jug in one block (but I love ice, can't stand drinking hot water).
