Im not sure, but at least as long as staffs everywhere wanted an excuse to have 15 minute 'fruit and juice' breaks, in place of an actual 45 minute lunch... I hadnt heard of them when I first started marching...but by the time I aged out...several corps were using them. Maybe I just wasnt in the know....
