dc oldtimer Posted April 29, 2009 Share Posted April 29, 2009 I had a hard time with this one only becasue I tried to choose a song the said "drum corps" to me not a song that I loved from one drum corps that they are famous for. e.i. Crown Imperial, Bottle Dance, etc. Mala is it for me. Many corps of played it for a reason. It's an awesome song that kids love playing. Overdone? Probably but I still crank it on the stereo when I am alone in the house without the wife and kid. Battle Hymn, I agree only becasue I am an old fart but I was honored to play it this past summer with CAC888. At first I said "what the hell" but as the season progressed, I loved playing it. After all those years and all those early 80s memorable tunes that were trademarks of their corps, Danny Boy is still the one melody that, no matter what context it is heard in, makes me think Drum Corps.
