Smoldering luggage on cook trailer. All good now. about 16 hours ago from web " There's a nice picture of a fireman putting it out too

eagreen
I go to school with one of the boys whose bags got cooked. He was coming back to camp after leaving for a family affair over the weekend. I guarantee you did not want to be on the field when he found out that all of his clothes/bags/everything went up in smoke-several hundred miles away from home... oldbandguy
Sounds like a prank gone wrong. Luggage doesn't just find its own way into an oven. That could not only ruin the luggage, but seriously damaged the oven or food truck. Not funny!
dcimarky
Funny, and not funny at the same time! One day the kid who's luggage was involved will laugh his butt off about this, but he's probably not laughing right now. Just one more reminder.....SAFETY FIRST! Fortunately everything was handled well and the worse was adverted. The food truck was being used to haul luggage during the move from Baraboo to East Troy. Our charters our not yet with us and we had rental school buses with no luggage capacity. The bags were temporarily set in a place that exposed them to high temperature from the cook top. No real damage to the food trailer. Two bags were lost and those members got to make a trip with Dann to have the corps replace the items lost. jblamb1401
I'm sure he got a nice new stock of plain white tee shirts. Probably needed them by now.
eagreen
Drum corps wouldn't be fun if you didn't have a whole host of crazy "remember the time" stories to tell... The scouts are one of the few corps that have always been known for taking care of their members "remember the time the entire pioneer front ensemble mooned the center marimba's girlfriend..."
