brassmeaway
I made this just to see what the consensus is. For me, 2000 is a tough year to beat (especially that BD show). Honorable mentions (2006, 2004). What makes the year you picked the best one for you? (Had to exclude the 70s due to the 3 question limit.) Drumcorpsfan471
2003, 1992, and 1989 for me..
Tez
I voted: 2008: Top to bottom, my favorite drum corps season ever.... It had my favorite show ever (PR), plus outstanding shows (for me) from Cavies, Crown, Blue Stars and others. 1993: I just love each of the top 3, especially PR and Star. 1987: While I am not as familiar with the 80s other than the top few places from each year, it's hard to beat Cadets' and Vanguard's 1987 shows as a top two for any year. TallAZEuph
I hated picking years so close together with 2000 and 1999, but those years both contained such epic shows now considered "classics". 2000 BD was actually the show that got me hooked on drum corps. I never saw it live but I bought the tour DVD in HS and watched it way too many times. And then Cadets with the legendary brass and percussion features and Niagara Falls from the Cavaliers. One of their most aggressive shows in years. 1999 SCV is one of my personal favorites because of the contrast in styles of music in that show, combined with phenomenal drill and raw energy! Plus you had another legendary performance from BD with Rhythms at the Edge of Time.
Matt_S
My favorite years have been 2003 and 2006 - I gave my vote to 2006. For the 90's, it came down to 1995 and 1999, and I again went with the latter. The 80's were a little more difficult, as I don't have an especially favorite year. I eventually went with 1988, though '87 and '89 are good too.
Rocketman
Thanks for "dissing" the 70's.
Matt_S
Sorry, Rock-it Man, but the poll only allows for three questions. Four decades isn't possible, based on the software.
RockEuph
87- Great shows. especially The (then) Garfield Cadets and my favorite show ever, that 87 SCV show!!!! 99- This was a shootout between 99, 92, and 95. I picked this one because of it's solid top 12 03- hardest to pick, close with 08, 05, and 00. All have great shows and personal memories tied to them. 2000 helped introduce me to drum corps, 03 was my first live show (finals in Orlando) 05 was my first year marching, and 08 was my first year marching world class. I'd have to say 03 tho because i can not think of any show in that top 12 that i didn't like. My favorite BD and Crossmen shows, two Malaguenas!!! and the last time Magic made finals.
