hostrauser
I see you hardly gave any thought to.Bluecoats ? and Crossmen ,Spirit ? why only 2010 Ideas for 2009's Top 15. I see you hardly gave any thought to. Pacific Crest ? and Mandarins ,Pioneer ? why only 2010 Ideas for 2009's Top 15. Possible answer #1: I already spent quite a bit of time creating fifteen shows--not just show concepts but full musical selections--and just wanted to post what I had. Possible answer #2: I hate every corps that doesn't make the Top 15 each year. You choose.
Skipatronic
Spirit should do Journey. They should keep the rock trend going and if they pulled of Kansas, then Journey should be a piece of cake.

kdaddy
While lots of corps have used Don Ellis, it seems like it's always the same charts. Strawberry Soup is the obvious one, but also Niner Two, ###### Wiggle Stomp, Final Analysis, and Open Wide. That's just scratching the surface. I'd love to see a corps explore some unused charts, like Tears of Joy, Invincible (I'd die to hear a corps match the solo from this piece), How's This Openers?, 33 222 1 222 (just try marching that!), Future Feature, Arcturus, and more. Image of Maria would make a nice ballad.
kdaddy
Besides, this is supposed to be an exercise in fun. I was the first person *I* saw online suggest Copland's "Organ Symphony" and Vaughan Williams' "Sinfonia Antartica," and within a couple of years both of those pieces showed up on the field with SCV and Pacific Crest, respectively. Coincidence? Probably. But, if a member of a DCI staff gets even one idea from my shows, even if I never know about it, that's enough for me. If I see ANY of the pieces I've suggested that have never been performed before make it to the field, that's enough. Whether they got the idea from this thread or not is almost irrelevant. Pilato had suggested both of those tunes some years ago on RAMD. But you don't need to toot your horn - the musical selections you suggested above were excellent. And I will be hitting up emusic to find a few that I'm unfamiliar with... :)
