vferrera
I just want it on record what was said to me by more than one Board members of the Madison Drum and Bugle Corps Association in the past concerning this subject. First, Sal and Michael were not blameless in this, and neither was the Board. Spending got out of hand and was allowed to get out of hand. Now, perhaps, with more light shed on the subject, you all can get past the total blame on the Director, and put it squarely where it belongs...on the management of the organization at the time, both director and Board. Just for "the record," the ED submits an annual budget. The BOD approves (or not) the ED's budget. Then it's up to the ED and treasurer to make sure that the budget is adhered to. The BOD does not approve individual expenditure items. This is straight from the MDBCA bylaws, which are available on their website.
vferrera
Someone tell me what the deadline is for the 2009 Alumni Dues please. Also, I need to know where the giving is right now and where the goal is. See, sometimes people give just to shut me up. They did last year, so hey...I do not mind being a stooge one bit if it means getting this debt erased.Who's game? I believe their fiscal year starts on Nov 1. They've raised about 70K for FY2009, not counting the Explorer Fund. http://www.madisonscouts.org/Madison_Scout...ison_Corps.html

Since I don't always bash this drum corps, I would like to know. I still think you can't do a Star Trek show without green alien chicks. Just sayin'. They've raised about 70K for FY2009, not counting the Explorer Fund.http://www.madisonscouts.org/Madison_Scout...ison_Corps.html We have some accounting to catch up for the past couple of weeks, but we are about at $75K raised on a goal of $90K. I have till October 31 to raise the remaining $15K. Donations are welcome and can be made by sending a check to: Madison Scouts 2935 S Fish Hatchery Rd #401 Madison, WI 53711 Or online at: http://www.madisongear.com/ The cash flow of a drum corps gets very challenged between September - December. This is an excellent time to make a donation and we welcome anything that you can contribute to our organization! vferrera
do you know what the goal is? It says the goal is 90,000, or about 10% of operating expenses (Just to address the person who said they were operating on a 1975 budget, which would have been closer to 100K).
