DheereCrossing
The Richardson, TX based first year corps had a finals send off show on Sunday for friends and family. Wow. A Paul Rennick drumline. All UNT students as far as I could see. 8/4/4 drumline. They just lost a bass drum and one couldn't make the show so they only marched two for the send off show but it still rocked. I think Paul said he was going to pick up a bass drummer in Rochester and teach him/her the show in a couple days.... wow again. Really strong. I liked the show - smooth hornline. Great guard work and dancing. The show nicely brings across the old time feel they want to project. Class A finals? Maybe - they're only a fraction of a point out of it right now and they've put in some nice changes since...

Eric Molho
Vigilantes joined us in Minnesota a few weekends ago and did a great job. This is a fun show you won't want to miss! Edited August 31, 2009 by MBIBari

BigSev
FYI...the drumline is a mix of people from high school and older members as well as some college kids. And yes, they do rock the house! And the traveling to ROC begins tomorrow from what I understand. Every method of transport is covered....except for boats I think...as everyone has their own preference of time spent on the road, in the air, as well as downtime before and after the weekend. SopRuss
When are yinz headin' out for RaChaCha...? Driven or Flyin'...? As Sev said, all methods. Don't forget to have a beer with my brother(Rich). See ya there!

You might keep us updated, if possible, for those driving. You really have to pass through TBIRD land in Erie Pa. (unless of course you go into Cleveland and get that Boat you refer to which may be slow going ....until you go over Niagra Falls...then it kind of speeds up)
bradrick
As far as "first year corps" go, The Vigilantes will certainly be a corps to watch for in Rochester. They really do have their eye on the ball (pun completely intended). And every aspect of the show and corps has really pulled together in the last few weeks. And I'm not going to pretend to be able to tell the difference between the best drumlines (comparing them against each other). But they definitely impressed the heck outta me and the rest of the crowd at the "Friends and Family" performance yesterday. The energy and vibe coming out of The Vigilantes drumline as they are ramping up for the trip to Rochester really is fantastic. And you could definitely feel it all the way up into the stands. It is super cool to see them so into their show and having so much fun. I definitely second the emoticon there.
taters
They are doing awesome for their first year. They are definitely earning their patches! Jus think if they go back and combine with Frontier and have a whole year to hit they could easily be a serious Open class competitor! JimF-LowBari
Think the Vigilantes are at the Holiday Inn at the Airport with the T-Birds and Lancer group. Good luck and hope to meet some of the members....
