Chris Komnick, Executive Director, and James Mason, Artistic Director of the Madison Scouts are pleased to announce Rosie Queen (Miller) as the Color Guard Caption Supervisor, Bryan Sutton as the Color Guard Caption Head and Charlie Gumbert as Color Guard Consultant. Rosie Queen has been performing, teaching, and directing color guards for the past 26 years and was the visual ensemble and cast manager for BLAST! while it ran in London and on Broadway. Her drum corps teaching experience includes Carolina Crown from 2003-2008 where she was the Caption Head from 2003-2005; the Cavaliers from 1994-2000, and The Cadets of Bergen County in 1993. Rosie has taught many high school and independent color guards throughout the U.S. & Japan including Pride of Cincinnati winter guard (1997-present, WGI Independent World Champions 2001, 2005, & 2007), Aimachi color guard from Nagoya, Japan (1996-present), Carroll H.S., Center Grove H.S., Avon H.S., Crown Guard, and Escapade. Currently, Rosie resides in Indianapolis, IN where she is the Color Guard Director at Carmel High School (WGI Scholastic Open Champion 2007 & BOA Grand National Champion 2005) . She has a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and is also pursuing certification in Event Management at IUPUI in Indianapolis. Bryan Sutton is an alumnus of the Scouts and has most recently been on the staff of the Blue Knights where he was choreographer and aided in the design. For the last 10 years, Bryan has been a performing member of BLAST! as part of the visual ensemble and served as the visual manager for the last two national tours. From 1998-99, Bryan was a color guard technician for the Santa Clara Vanguard, winning the DCI World Championships in 1999. During that same time he taught the Emerald Marquis winter guard which went on to win the WGI Independent World Championship in 1999. In 2004-05, he taught Interplay winter guard which won the WGI Independent Open Championship in 2005. Bryan has served as an instructor, choreographer and designer for high school marching bands throughout North America and currently resides in Detroit, Michigan. Charlie Gumbert is an alumnus of the Madison Scouts and is currently the director of the Pride of Cincinnati winter guard, a position he has held for the past 10 years. During his tenure at Pride, they have won three WGI Independent World Championships. Charlie began his teaching with the Star of Indiana in 1993 and continued with Brass Theatre from 1994 -1996. He continues to teach several color guards units including Carmel H.S., Center Grove H.S. and Northview H.S.
