euponitone
I understand that last group was Jong Jubal. Creepy but fun show. Their opening drill - spinning hands of a clock - really worked well. So I guess that was the Cadet portion and now we're waiting for the Open Class Finals. The crowd is a riot. VERY vocal and enthusiastic, but also polite. yes....the schedule is available on the site if you know where to look. I think 10 corps in the finals. crowd is definitely fun

MAV
Jong Jubal won the 2009 DCE Cadets Championships. They won all captions except for Guard & Brass which went to Jong Beatrix.

MAV
In the Open Class Championships now. Black Knights up first. With just 15 brass they sound incredible. Huge sound. Music from Moulan Rouge.
onceuponatime
Just caught this by accident. What a treat. Not sure who I just watched (just finished performing), but they were entertaining as hell. Talk about working with what you have to maximum advantage. Small corps, well trained, performed and executed well. The show didn't appear to have a theme, and it sure didn't need one. It was just a ball to watch. Kudos to whomever teaches them. smj02
I loved Black Knights' show...just fun all around. Wish more DCI open class corps would take that approach. I'm guessing that show in DCA class A would've placed in the upper half.
MAV
Really liked Black Knights. Already performed: Starriders and Poynton Commodores, Now up: Millennium from Italy. Their warm-up was "Ave Maria" - Biebl-style.
smj02
Biebl's Ave Maria seems to be the warm up of choice...Northern Star used it too. Or not...wow, I'm dumb. Edited September 26, 2009 by smj02
