so far the recent marchers have been the most dedicated to 1 corps

probably not what people were expecting.

The way the question is structured, they may have only marched 1 year so far and have years to go. You can't conclude anything from this particular answer to the poll, even after a lot of data is collected.

The only way to gather this data with a real amount scientific value is to have exit interviews with age outs for the next 10 years, collect similar data from former age outs, and do it all with names, contact information and dates.

But the poll is interesting, both as a respondent and observer.

I assumed you were just looking for junior corps results so I answered yes to staying with the same corps, even though i marched with 2 senior corps after I aged out.

Hey CitBos,

Your signature goes directly to the heart of what I am asking in the poll. Nice! I am not intending to shun or leave out Open class, I am just asking about World class right now. Open will be later.

Thanks to everyone who responded to the poll.

After it was posted, I realized I should have somehow had eras attached to the folded corps question so I could properly remove those responses from the totals. But you can only post 3 questions. Thats ok though, the results are still interesting.

Thanks again.

I think that it at least shows us "old farts" that these "youngsters" of today are not as flippant as we would like to thaink they were. They actually DO tend to stay in one corps for as long as we did back in the day. I think that the figures may however be a touch skewed as there are probably more "youngsters" than "old farts" on DCP. That said, still interesting results and not what I would have expected. I marched my entire drum corps career in the Freelancers. The idea of marching somewhere else was foreign to me. I was under the impression that the marchers of today are much more transient than back in my day.

I was wrong.
