How do you tell a student that all that hard work is doing nothing but loosing points because of a judge . a few tenth's ?

half a point ? a point ? 2 POINTS ? come on !

Uh..you don't. Because educators and students alike realize that raw scores are arbitrary and that success is judged by one's own measure of progress.

Correct. I agree with the judging, I just had my facts mixed up, so my prior post had little to no to meaning!

Your hidden slam has been noted

Geez, I didn't think it was all that " hidden". I thought I couldn't have made it more clear, actually. But whatever.

I generally don't think it's a good idea to call out any judge by name in a thread on DCP. Just seems poor form IMO. It happens every year, though, so "whattayagonnado?" Right?

I think we all just hope that all judges are using their true ability to be unbiased and accurately appropriate in their judging responsibility, regardless of past involvement in any way, shape or form with any corps. I think we can all understand a judge who might be more critical for fear that people might just say "well, he/she used to be with <whomever> and THAT'S why they went "easy" on them." But I hope that isn't happening - conciously or not.
